A Few FIFO Charter Flights and Other Light General Aviation (GA) Aircraft Around CQ Airports - Plus More!

On Wednesday 13 September, Skytrans Airlines Dash-8-100 VH-QQC flew down from Cairns to the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site as SKP525 before then flying across to Rockhampton Airport as SKP778. It then completed another run to Labona and back to Rockhampton Airport as SKP779/4.

Of interest, fellow Skytrans Airlines Dash-8-100 VH-QQG departed Rockhampton Airport late on Tuesday 12 September for Cairns as SKP545.  As mentioned below, it had been 'based' at Rockhampton Airport for the previous couple of weeks but seemed to encounter a technical problem yesterday.


Machjet (Machjet International) Beech B200C King Air VH-PUY as "Machflight 73" completed two runs between Rockhampton Airport and Labona and back. It had arrived into Rockhampton late on Tuesday 12 September.

UPDATE!   On Thursday 14 September, VH-PUY "Machflight 73" departed Rockhampton Airport for Labona before then flying up to Charters Towers Aerodrome.

Easternwell Group (Avcair) Beech B300 Super King Air VH-EWQ arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Toowoomba before it then departed to Labona. VH-EWQ then flew back direct to Toowoomba.

Hinterland Aviation Cessna 208 Caravan VH-NDC flew down from Townsville to Mackay Airport and then Labona and back to Mackay Airport and back to Townsville as HND2280/1/2/3. VH-NDC also operated into Mackay Airport from Townsville on the Labona run on Tuesday 12 September.

Hinterland Aviation Cessna 208 Caravan VH-CVN continues to operate their FIFO charter flights from Rockhampton Airport to Labona and back.


While Seair Pacific / Istlecote Cessna 208 Caravan VH-TQW flew up from Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport to Middlemount Aerodrome before then flying down to Biloela / Thangool Airport, Maryborough Airport and back to Hervey Bay Airport.

Also, Rural Funds Management (A.C.T.) (formerly Capital Jet Charter) Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-STE flew into Rockhampton Airport from Canberra, Sydney and Archerfield before then flying some airwork to the West of Rocky and then returning to Rockhampton Airport.

UPDATE!  On Thursday 14 September, VH-STE departed Rockhampton Airport and flew to Maryborough Airport. It then continued to Archerfield, Lismore, Sydney and Canberra.

AirServices Australia / Pearl Aviation Hawker Beechcraft B300 Super King Air VH-FIY as "Auscal 3" landed at Longreach Airport from RAAF Base Tindal (Katherine) and then later departed to Brisbane.

Brisbane-based Australian Agricultural Company Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-AAC landed at Goonoo Feedlot from North-West of Julia Creek before then later departing to Surat.

FKG Air (Redjet Aviation) Hawker Beechcraft B200GT VH-FKB visited Mackay Airport from Toowoomba and Archerfield.

UPDATE!  On Thursday 14 September, VH-FKB was back in the region, calling into the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour from Toowoomba before then departing to Kidston and Chinchilla Aerodromes before returning to Toowoomba.

DND Aviation Gold Coast-based Beech 95-B55 Baron VH-FEM arrived into Gladstone Airport from Redcliffe.

Nebrean P/L Hawker Beechcraft B200GT Super King Air 250 VH-JHP visited Rockhampton Airport from Toowoomba and Archerfield.

And Re-registered Poolhurst Aviation Air Charter Services Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-PDE departed Barcaldine Airport for Archerfield. It had flown into there yesterday.

UPDATE!  On Thursday 14 September, VH-PDE visited Planet Downs from Archerfield.

Meanwhile, also on Wednesday 13 September, Multiquip Poultry / Navair Flight Operations Embraer EMB-500 Phenom 100EV bizjet VH-MQX as "Navair 187" flew down from Hamilton Island Airport to Bankstown. It had flown up to Hamo from Bankstown on Saturday 9 September.

Jetstream Aviation (Emprja P/L) Cessna 550 Citation II VH-VDF returned back through Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport, arriving from Lockhart River and departing to the Sunshine Coast. It had passed through heading to Far North Queensland on Sunday 10 September.

And Avcair (Avgunn) LearJet 60 bizjet VH-ILJ visited Gladstone Airport from Brisbane.
