Monday 22 January, Sunshine Coast Based Piper PA-32R-301T Saratoga II TC VH-PDY had a wheels up landing at Maryborough Airport. It seems that while on a flight from Caloundra, the pilot inadvertently retracted the landing gear during a touch-and-go, resulting in minor damage to the aircraft.
7NEWS Wide Bay showed images of VH-PDY stopped on the runway.
The pilot walked away from the landing and was assessed by paramedics at the Airport.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) spokesperson said three crews were called to Maryborough Airport at 11am to reports a light aircraft had slid a short distance on the runway.
