On Monday 28 February, Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) Central Operations Pilatus PC-24 Jet VH-FZQ was spotted visiting Bundaberg Airport.

The sleek little aeromedical bizjet operated what appeared to be a Patient Transfer flight from or back to Adelaide. It was noted using the flight number and radio callsign of "FlyDoc 519".

Of interest, the RFDS Central Operations have two PC-24 jets in their fleet, while on Monday 28 February, the RFDS Western Operations took delivery of their third.

Around the same time, a couple of other RFDS (Queensland Section) King Air turboprop aircraft were also spotted visiting Bundaberg Airport, also on Monday 28 February.

RFDS Raytheon B200 King Air VH-VJU (ex VH-FDR) as "FlyDoc 445" arrived from Rockhampton Airport (where it is based) and then departed to Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) and Brisbane Airports.

And RFDS Hawker Beechcraft B200 King Air VH-FDS "FlyDoc 425" presently seems to be based at Bundaberg Airport and completed several flights from and back to the Rum City.

Meanwhile, a couple of other nice corporate bizjet and other movements, also on Monday 28 February, included Novajet (PAL Aerospace) (Canada) Dassault Falcon 900LX bizjet C-GGBC, which flew up from Melbourne (Essendon) and landed at Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport where it looked to stay.

MacKellar Mining Equipment Pty Ltd (Revesco Aviation) Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign bizjet VH-MMC was noted visiting the the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site.  Again, it looked to arrive from and then later depart back to the Sunshine Coast.

Air Gold Coast Cessna 525 Citation CJ1 bizjet VH-CDG flew up from Archerfield to Mackay Airport and then Hamilton Island Airport.  It then flew down to Baralaba where, due to no parking area there, it parked on the Runway and closed it for four hours.  VH-CDG then flew back to Archerfield.

Balmoral Air Dassault Falcon 2000LX bizjet VH-WIO visited Hamilton Island Airport from its Bankstown base.

And McDermott Aviation Group / Machjet International Beech B200 King Air VH-MWZ was noted visiting my local Clermont Aerodrome from its Sunshine Coast base.

Finally, also on Monday 28 February, Link Airways (Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation) SAAB 340B VH-VEM visited Emerald Airport and my local Clermont Aerodrome before flying back to Brisbane.  Fellow SAAB 340B VH-VEF visited Mackay Airport also from Brisbane.  And SAAB 340B VH-VEP visited Theodore Aerodrome from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

While Link Airways (Corporate Air  / Vee H Aviation) Metro 23 VH-VEK completed the airline's Regular Passenger Transport (RPT) service into Biloela / Thangool Airport, arriving from and later departing back to Brisbane.

And Skytrans Airlines Dash-8-100 VH-QQC flew down from Cairns and Proserpine Airports to Rockhampton Airport as SKP81 before it then flew out to Labona and back to Rocky as SKP771/2.

Fellow Skytrans Skytrans Dash-8-100 VH-QQF was noted flying to Labona from and back to Townsville as SKP761/2.

Sincere thanks to Dan B from Dan Beck Photography for allowing us to share these great photos!

A Few More Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Aircraft Movements at Central Queensland Airports

On Friday 19 June, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-209 was spotted in the rain and mist as it was about to complete a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport.  It was heard to be using the radio callsign of "Stallion 57".

The C-17 had originally departed RAAF Base Amberley and flew up to Rocky.  After the missed approach, it continued up to Townsville where it landed for short time.  A41-209 "Stallion 57" then flew back to Amberley via a spectacular low-level missed approach at Emerald Airport - as shown below.

Meanwhile, after arriving the previous afternoon, both RAAF Beech B350 Super King Air turboprops A32-671 "Hudson 09" and then A32-651 "Hudson 08" both departed Mackay Airport and flew back directly to their 'home' at RAAF Base East Sale in Victoria.

Finally, also on Friday 19 June, RAAF Lockheed C-130J-30 Hercules transport aircraft A97-442 "Trojan 04" was again noted in the region.  It looked to fly up from Amberley to complete a missed approach at Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport before flying at low level up to around the Baralaba region and then Moura before landing at Taroom Airport.

Earlier, it appears the Herc flew at low level around the Sunshine Coast and Fraser Island area before flying to the Wondai area and eventually returning to Amberley.

It also appears that RAAF Alenia C-27J Spartan battlefield airlifter A34-007 "Wallaby 65" may have also completed airwork at Fraser Island while on a flight out of and back to Amberley.

Also on Tuesday 3 March, Machjet (Machjet International) Cessna 525 Citation CJ1 bizjet VH-SIY was noted calling into  Baralaba Aerodrome from the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.  It later departed back to Brisbane and its Sunshine Coast base.

Airmed Australia Cessna 510 Citation Mustang Bizjet VH-SQY Pops into Bundaberg Airport

On Thursday 10 October, AirMed Australia Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-SQY was noted arriving into Bundaberg Airport from Bankstown via Armidale and Archerfield. It was heard to be using the radio callsign of "Airmed 921".

File photo

After being on the ground for around an hour, VH-SQY departed back to Bankstown in New South Wales again as "Airmed 921".

The sleek little bizjet has recently has its operator details updated to AirMed Australia - a New South Wales (NSW) based organisation that has been providing patient transport services by air and by ground for over a decade.  They promote themselves as one of the few providers that have extensive air and ground assets positioned around NSW, thus enabling them to provide our customers with a true "bed-to-bed" service.

To find out more about AirMed, visit their website at:  http://airmed.com.au/

Meanwhile, the seemingly Bundaberg Airport-based Avcair (Earth Commodities) Cessna 550 Citation Bravo bizjet VH-CCJ, flew back to Sydney from Bundy also on Thursday 10 October.  As mentioned below, it completed two return flights to Sydney and one to Brisbane on Wednesday 9 October.

UPDATE!  VH-CCJ returned to Bundaberg Airport from Sydney on Saturday 12 October.

A couple of interesting corporate turboprop aircraft also noted at CQ Airports also on Thursday 10 October, included Brisbane-based SOCATA TBM 700 VH-PGA, which landed on a property South-West est of Baralaba before later heading across to Rockhampton Airport.  It then departed to the South-West.

UPDATE!  VH-PGA was noted visiting Emerald Airport - amongst other places - on Friday 11 October before ending the day back at Archerfield.

Plus Canberra-based SOCATA TBM 700 VH-YZZ departed Gladstone Airport for its Canberra home also on Thursday 10 October.  Had arrived from Ballina on Sunday 6 October.
