Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-8 MAX BBJ A62-001 "Envoy 12" Spotted at Rockhampton Airport

On Tuesday 31 March, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-8 MAX BBJ A62-001 was spotted on the ground at Rockhampton Airport.


It was flying as "Envoy 12" and arrived from Canberra and RAAF Base Williamtown then departed back to Williamtown.

Meanwhile, also on Tuesday 31 March, National Jet Express Dash-8-Q400 Next Gen VH-8QB as "Jetex 440" arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Brisbane and then departed to Cairns and Horn Island as "Jetex 442" on a school holiday charter.  Later it returned to Townsville as "Jetex 445".

And Brescon (Toowoomba) Beech B200 King Air VH-WXB flew out from Sunshine Coast to Rolleston Aerodrome and then down to Injune Aerodrome and then back to the Sunshine Coast.

Finally, on Monday 30 March, NQ Goldfields Beech 58 Baron VH-SNZ visited Clermont Aerodrome from Charters Towers Aerodrome again.

Vee H Aviation (Link Airways) Beech B200GT Super King Air 250 VH-VEW also made its usual Monday run up from Brisbane to the Oaky Creek Mine Site and then Clermont Aerodrome and then back to Brisbane.

And Consolidated Pastoral Company P/L Cessna 421C Golden Eagle VH-UTC landed at Longreach Airport from Mount Isa then departed to Archerfield.

SmartLynx Australia (Skytrans Airlines) Airbus A319-112 VH-L7A 'SKP410' Spotted at Rockhampton Airport - Plus More!

On Tuesday 26 August, SmartLynx Australia (Skytrans Airlines) Airbus A319-112 VH-L7A as 'SKP410'  arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Brisbane. 



At the time of writing, it appears to be staying for at least the night.

UPDATE!  On Wednesday 27 August, SmartLynx Australia A319 VH-L7A now as 'SKP413' departed Rockhampton Airport and returned to Brisbane.

Meanwhile, also on Tuesday 26 August, the locally-based Embraer EMB-550 Legacy 500 bizjet N142GZ was back in the air departing Mackay Airport for Brisbane. It later returned to the Sugar City.

Air Gold Coast Cessna 525A CitationJet CJ2 bizjet VH-ZDM arrived into Hamilton Island Airport from the Gold Coast via the Sunshine Coast.

UPDATE!  On Thursday 28 August, VH-ZDM departed Hamo for the Sunny Coast and the Goldie.

Bowenville based (operated by Real Time Aviation - Brisbane) Cessna 525 CitationJet CJ1+ bizjet VH-JSZ visited Clermont Aerodrome from Archerfield and Toowoomba-Wellcamp.

Beech 95-B55 Baron VH-MYM visited Clermont Aerodrome from its Gayndah Aerodrome base.

Brescon (Toowoomba) Beech B200 King Air VH-WXN visited Rolleston Aerodrome from the Sunshine Coast via Injune Aerodrome.

And some Cirrus SR22s in the form of N312GM, VH-82C, VH-84T and VH-CPK all called into Emerald Airport on their way back 'home' from Darwin. 

Finally, late on Tuesday 26 August, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Alenia C-27J Spartan transport aircraft A34-005 as "Wallaby 70" completed airwork at Rockhampton and Emerald 
Airports while on a flight out of and back to RAAF Base Amberley.

Fellow C-27J Spartan A34-002 as "Wallaby 62" was also flying about the region and noted completing airwork at Roma Airport.

New Zealand Registered Cessna A185F Skywagon ZK-CDM Passes Through CQ Airports - Plus More!

On Sunday 11 August, New Zealand Registered Cessna A185F Skywagon ZK-CDM was noted flying up from Caloundra to Gladstone Airport and then onwards to the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour.

ZK-CDM appears to be based at Blenheim in New Zealand and crossed the 'ditch' landing at the Gold Coast during this last week after completing a 10+ hour flight via a fuel stop at Norfolk Island.

UPDATE!  ZK-CDM continued up to Far North Queensland and then across to the Northern Territory and Western Australia before returning back to the East Coast of Australia through the 'Red Centre' of Australia.  It then cross back to New Zealand from the Gold Coast 'direct' taking just over 8 hours to complete the crossing!

Meanwhile, also on Sunday 11 August, Adelaide based Bruce Hartwig Flying School Piper PA-46-350P Malibu VH-NGG landed at Longreach Airport from Birdsville.  It had flown up from Adelaide (Parafield) yesterday.

Seair Pacific / Istlecote Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX VH-MIF was noted departing Longreach Airport for Injune Aerodrome.

And New South Wales based Piper PA-32-300 Saratoga VH-CDK and PA-28-236 Dakota both landed at Gladstone Airport from Caloundra. VH-TKX then departed to Hamilton Island Airport.

MacKellar Mining Equipment Pty Ltd (Revesco Aviation) Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign VH-MMC Calls into a Couple of CQ Airports - Plus More!

On Wednesday 10 January, MacKellar Mining Equipment Pty Ltd (Revesco Aviation) Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign bizjet VH-MMC flew into Emerald Airport from the Sunshine Coast. It then departed to the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site.

During the afternoon, VH-MMC returned to Emerald Airport from Labona before heading back to the Sunshine Coast.

While Darwin-based Lloyd Aviation Jet Charter Dassault Falcon 900 bizjet VH-PPD arrived into Hamilton Island Airport from Sydney.

UPDATE!  On Saturday 13 January, VH-PPD departed Hamo for Newcastle (Williamtown).

Townsville-based ZephAir Australia Piper PA-31-350 VH-MJA as "Zedair 110" flew down from Townsville to Mackay Airport.

Mandalay Two P/L Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SCQ visited Injune Aerodrome from Toowoomba.

Brisbane-based Beech 58 Baron VH-VSA visited Emerald Airport from Archerfield.

And Brisbane-based Beech 58 Baron VH-WSF visited Gladstone Airport from Archerfield.

FlyPelican (Pelican Airlines) BAe Jetstream 32 VH-OTD Spotted at Gladstone Airport – Plus More!

On Thursday 6 July, an interesting visitor to the region, presumably on a closed charter flight, was FlyPelican (Pelican Airlines) BAe Jetstream 32 VH-OTD.  It was spotted at Gladstone Airport visiting from Narrabri and Brisbane as PE998.




After returning to Brisbane, VH-OTD continued to Newcastle (Williamtown).

Meanwhile, also on Thursday 6 July, Austrek Aviation Beech B200 Super King Air VH-ZGD flew up from Toowoomba to Injune Aerodrome and then down to Port Macquarie then up to Emerald Airport and then back to Toowoomba. 

Brisbane-based Crockett Aviation Group Beech B200 King Air VH-FAQ flew into the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site from Archerfield before then returning there but via the Sunshine Coast.

Flight One (Services) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-UVH flew up from Archerfield and the Sunshine Coast to Labona before returning to Archerfield direct.

The Queensland Government Airwing (State of Queensland) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SGQ landed at Longreach Airport from Mount Isa and then departed to Gladstone Airport before continuing to Brisbane but via a missed approach at Gayndah. Aerodrome 

Property Maintenance Australia P/L Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-WJA arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Dubbo.  It is planned to return there on Friday 7 July.

Pilatus PC-12/45 VH-PID of Kelsall P/L (Aeronautics and Technology Holdings) looked to land at Emu Park Aerodrome from its Toowoomba base before then continuing to North towards Cairns.

UPDATE!  On Friday 7 July, VH-PID flew down from Townsville way to land at Emerald Airport before continuing to Canberra and then returning to Toowoomba.

Dalydine P/L (Pilatus Australia) Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-PDE visited 'Planet Downs' from Archerfield.

UPDATE!  Today, on Thursday 6 July, VH-PDE was 'officially' re-registered to Poolhurst Aviation Air Charter Services.

Hawker Beechcraft G58 Baron VH-EZD was noted flying down from Hamilton Island Airport to its Monto Aerodrome base.  It seems to have flown up there last Wednesday 28 June.

NSW based Piper PA-28-140 Cherokee VH-RSG landed at Longreach Airport from Toowoomba and Roma Airports.  It looked to have flown up from Kempsey last Tuesday 27 June.

UPDATE!  On Friday 7 July, VH-RSG continue to Cloncurry, Borroloola and Emkaytee in the Northern Territory.

And Seair Pacific (Istlecote) Cessna 208 Caravan VH-TFB flew up from Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport to Middlemount Aerodrome before flying back down to Maryborough and Hervey Bay Airports.

Finally, also on Thursday 6 July, Jetstream Aviation (Emprja P/L) Cessna 550 Citation II bizjet VH-VDF flew up from the Sunshine Coast to Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport and then Townsville.

UPDATE!  On Monday 10 July, VH-VDF returned to Proserpine Airport from Townsville before continuing back to the Sunny Coast.

AirMed Australia Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-NEQ as "AirMed 923" was back in the region again, arriving into Rockhampton Airport from Archerfield.  It then departed to Townsville before returning to Archerfield.

McDermott Aviation Group / Machjet International Cessna 525C CitationJet CJ4 bizjet VH-PIY as 'MC38' visited Bundaberg Airport from the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.

Elite Aero P/L Cessna 510 Citation Mustang Bizjet VH-ACH Pops into Emerald Airport - Plus More!

On Wednesday 5 July, Elite Aero P/L Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-ACH looked to visit Emerald Airport from Bankstown and Newcastle (Williamtown).

While AirMed Australia Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-NEQ as "AirMed 923" flew up from Brisbane to Mackay Airport then down to the Shellharbour Airport at Woolongong.  It then flew up to Archerfield.

And McDermott Aviation Group / Machjet International Cessna 525A CitationJet CJ2 bizjet VH-SUY flew up from the Sunshine Coast to land at Gladstone Airport.  It then departed to Hamilton Island Airport before later returning to the Sunny Coast.

Meanwhile, also on Wednesday 5 July, Austrek Aviation Beech B200 King Air VH-ZMW landed at Moura Aerodrome from Toowoomba then departed back to there. 

Microflite Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-8MF flew up to the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour and then Hamilton Island Airport from Melbourne (Moorabbin).  It later flew back down from Hamo to Moorabbin.

Brescon (Toowoomba) Beech B200 King Air VH-WXN flew up from Toowoomba-Wellcamp to Chinchilla, Injune and Rolleston Aerodromes before then flying across to the Sunshine Coast and then back to Wellcamp.

Beech 58 Baron VH-JCJ departed Emerald Airport for its Toowoomba base.  It had arrived from there yesterday.

Piper PA-30 Twin Comanche B VH-SEX flew down from Innisfail to Emerald Airport before departing to its Toowoomba base.

While one we haven't seen for a while in the region was Bayswater Road Aerial Surveys / Aero Logistics Survey Government Aircraft Factories (GAF) N-22C Nomad VH-ATO which looked to complete airwork at Bundaberg Airport while on a flight out of and back to Archerfield.

Seair Pacific / Istlecote Textron Aviation (Cessna) 208B Caravan VH-TQI flew down from Lizard Island and Cairns to Emerald Airport and then the Gold Coast.  It appears to have flown North over the weekend, coming up from Lady Elliot Island and the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour to Townsville before then continuing to Lizard Island on Monday 3 July.

And New South Wales-based Inverted Downunder / Matt Hall Racing Piper PA-39-160 Turbo Twin Comanche VH-HTC arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Cairns.  It is due to continue to Lake Macquarie on Thursday 6 July.

FKG Air (Redjet Aviation) Hawker Beechcraft B200GT VH-FKB Pops into Rockhampton Airport - Plus More!

On Thursday 1 June, FKG Air (Redjet Aviation) Hawker Beechcraft B200GT VH-FKB was noted visiting Rockhampton Airport from Toowoomba and Archerfield.

Rural Funds Management (A.C.T.) (formerly Capital Jet Charter) Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-STE departed Rockhampton Airport for Springsure Aerodrome before later returning.  VH-STE had arrived into Rockhampton Airport the previous day from Canberra via Toowoomba and Emerald Airports.

UPDATE!  On Friday 2 June, VH-STE departed to Rockhampton Airport for Bundaberg Airport and then back to Canberra.

Brisbane-based Crockett Aviation Group Beech B200 King Air VH-FAQ arrived into the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site from Archerfield.  It then departed back there but via the Sunshine Coast.

Flight One (Services) Beech B200 King Air VH-FON also visited Labona but from Archerfield via the Sunshine Coast. 

And Brescon (Toowoomba) Beech B200 King Air VH-WXB arrived into Labona from Toowoomba-Wellcamp and Archerfield before later departing to Bowen Aerodrome.  It is due to return to Archerfield and Wellcamp on Friday 2 June.

Meanwhile, also on Thursday 1 June, Townsville-based ZephAir Australia Piper PA-34-220T Seneca VH-YSI flew down from Mackay Airport to Bundaberg Airport.

And Kirkhope Aviation (Victoria) Piper PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain VH-ZUM departed Longreach Airport for Roma and Injune Airports whole seemingly on a closed tourist charter flight.  It had flown North around a week ago and has been up to the tip of Far North Queensland.

Flight Options (Australia) Textron Aviation (Cessna) 525C CitationJet CJ4 VH-8CJ Calls into Hamilton Island Airport - Plus More - UPDATED with PIC!

On Friday 26 May, brand new and recently delivered Flight Options (Australia) Textron Aviation (Cessna) 525C CitationJet CJ4 VH-8CJ was noted arriving into Hamilton Island Airport from what appears to be its Sunshine Coast base.


The brand-new Citation arrived into Australia at Armidale (NSW) on Tuesday 16 May from Wichita (USA) via all stops.  It flew up to the Sunshine Coast the next day and the flight to Hamo is its first.

UPDATE!  On Sunday 28 May, VH-8CJ was photographed above as it departed Hamilton Island Airport for the Sunshine Coast.

While over on the mainland, Mitchell Water Cessna 525 Citation M2 bizjet VH-WMY flew up from Archerfield and the Sunshine Coast to the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour.  It then flew down to Mackay Airport.

UPDATE!  On Monday 29 May, VH-WMY departed Mackay Airport and returned to Shute Harbour before then heading down to Broken Hill, Waikere, Melbourne (Essendon) and Melbourne (Moorabbin).

Of interest, VH-WMY visited Miles Airport twice on Friday 25 May.

And LifeFlight (Aeromed) Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjet VH-OFA "Ambulance 614" visited Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport from Brisbane.

Meanwhile, also on Friday 25 May, Gulf Aircraft Textron Aviation (Cessna) 208 Caravan VH-PYO flew down from Longreach Airport to Chinchilla Aerodrome.

Armada Aviation (of Ringwood in Victoria) Pilatus PC-12/45 turboprop VH-XAQ flew down from Cairns to Emerald Airport and then Injune Aerodrome.  It seems to be on a closed tourist charter flight and flew up to Far North Queensland ten days earlier.

Link Airways (Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation) Cessna 441 Conquest VH-VEJ flew up to the Oaky Creek Coal Mine site from Brisbane before then flying down to Moree and Newcastle (Williamtown) Tamworth.  It then returned to Brisbane. 

And RACQ LifeFlight Agusta Westland AW139 helicopter VH-XIL completed a training flight from Toowoomba to Gladstone Airport via Chinchilla Aerodrome.

Gold Coast-based but American Registered Cirrus SF50 VisionJet Bizjet N958AG Calls into a Couple of CQ Airports - Plus More!

On Thursday 23 March, Gold Coast-based but American Registered Cirrus SF50 VisionJet bizjet N958AG was noted visiting a couple of Central Queensland Airports while on a busy day of flying.

It started the day at Cairns (after arriving there from the Gold Coast the previous day) and headed to Bamaga and then Mackay Airport before continuing South to Gladstone Airport and then Archerfield and back to the Gold Coast.

And AAA Aircraft / Flight Options (Australia) Cessna 550 Citation Bravo bizjet VH-CCJ flew up from the Sunshine Coast to complete airwork at Bundaberg Airport and Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport before then returning to the Sunshine Coast where it completed more.

It also appears that VH-CCJ completed airwork at Bundaberg Airport on Wednesday 22 March.

Meanwhile, also on Thursday 23 March, Queensland Government (QGAir) Rescue (State of Queensland) Leonardo S.P.A. Helicopter (Agusta) AW139 helicopter VH-EGF popped into Emerald Airport while flying North to Townsville from Archerfield.  It looks to have taken up operations there as "Rescue 521".

It comes a day after fellow QGAir AW139 helicopter VH-EGK ferried South from Townsville to Archerfield, also via Emerald Airport - see Blog post below.

NSW based Mooney M20R VH-MZZ landed at Emerald Airport after flying up from Bankstown (yesterday), Cessnock and Walgett.

UPDATE!  On Sunday 26 March, VH-MZZ departed Emerald Airport and returned to Walgett and then Bankstown.

The Redcliffe Aero Club Vulcanair (Partenavia) P.68C VH-VMV looked to fly into Mackay Airport from Redcliffe.

And several King Air turboprops were noted visiting several CQ Airports including the Thursday 'rush' down in the Gas Fields.

Machjet (Machjet International) Hawker Beechcraft B200 King Air VH-ZSY was noted visiting Longreach Airport, departing to Rockhampton Airport and then to the North.

Brisbane-based Crockett Aviation Group Beech B200 King Air VH-FAQ visited the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site from Archerfield and the Sunshine Coast.

Pesca Aviation (Brisbane) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-UVH flew up from Toowoomba to Longreach Airport and then further to Julia Creek. It then flew down to Maryborough Airport before then returning to Toowoomba. 

And also noted operating out of Toowoomba (City) and Toowoomba-Wellcamp Airports on flight to Roma and Injune Airports were King Airs VH-WXB, VH-WXN, VH-DYN and VH-XDW of Brescon P/L, as well as King Airs VH-ZGD and VH-ZMW of Austrek Air Charter. 

This mass flight of King Airs seems to be a regular Thursday occurrence!

Air Gold Coast Cessna 525 Citation CJ1 Bizjet VH-CDG Pops into Longreach Airport - Plus More!

On Thursday 12 January, Air Gold Coast Cessna 525 Citation CJ1 bizjet VH-CDG was noted visiting Longreach Airport.

It looked to arrive from and then later depart back to the Gold Coast. 

While Bowenville (near Toowoomba) based Cessna 525 CitationJet CJ1+ bizjet VH-JSZ flew up to Hamilton Island from Archerfield.  It later flew down to Mackay Airport where it appears to be staying.

And AirMed Australia Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-NEQ as "AirMed 923" was noted visiting the region again this week on what appeared to be another medical evacuation flight.  This time it looked to fly up from Archerfield to Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport and then Bundaberg Airport before returning to Archerfield.

Meanwhile, also on Thursday 12 January, The Redcliffe Aero Club Vulcanair (Partenavia) P.68C VH-VMV departed Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport to complete aerial survey work way out to sea.  About six hours later, it landed at Gladstone Airport and looked to stay.  It seems that VH-VMV flew into Hervey Bay Airport from Redcliffe via the Sunshine Coast the previous day.

UDPATE!  On Friday 13 January, VH-VMV was noted completing another six hour or so aerial survey sortie way out to sea, this time out of and back to Gladstone Airport.

Brisbane-based Crockett Aviation Group Beech B200 King Air VH-FAQ visited the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site from Archerfield and the Sunshine Coast.

UTS Geophysics / Aviation Utilities Eurocopter AS 350 B3 Squirrel helicopter VH-VOW was noted flying around the Rockhampton area.  It seems to have flown up from its Camden base in New South Wales last weekend.

And the Queensland Police Service (Airwing) (State of Queensland) Raytheon B1900D VH-PSK arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Cairns and Townsville before later departing to Brisbane.  It then returned North to Townsville and Cairns.

Finally, also on Thursday 12 January, there was multiple Beech Super King Air visitors into Roma Airport - as there seems to be most mornings but mostly on a Thursday morning!

Breson (Toowoomba) Beech B200 King Air turboprops VH-WXB, VH-WXN and VH-XDW all visited Roma Airport from Toowoomba-Wellcamp.  

VH-XDW continued up to Injune Aerodrome and back to Wellcamp.

VH-WXB and VH-WXN visited again later but then flew out to Moomba and back to Roma and Wellcamp Airports.

Air Link (Dubbo) Beech B200 King Air VH-ISS flew out from Archerfield before completing two flights between Wellcamp and Roma Airport.

Easternwell Group (Avcair) Beech B300 Super King Air VH-EWQ and B200 King Airs VH-EWG and VH-HPP all flew out of Toowoomba (City) to Roma Airport and back.

And Dino Air (Interair) Piper PA-31 Navajo VH-XGL continues to complete yet more aerial survey flights around the area, departing from and returning to Roma Airport.

GBJ Nominees (Navair Flight Operations) Textron (Cessna) 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-IEQ "Navair 187" Pops into Hamilton Island Airport - Plus More!

On Thursday 1 December, GBJ Nominees (Navair Flight Operations) Textron (Cessna) 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-IEQ as "Navair 187" was noted arriving into Hamilton Island Airport from Bankstown.  It later departed to Albury before returning to Bankstown.

And Mitchell Water Cessna 525 Citation M2 bizjet VH-WMY visited the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour from Melbourne (Moorabbin) via Melbourne (Essendon).

Meanwhile, also on Thursday 1 December, several King Air turboprop aircraft were noted visiting several Central Queensland Airports.

Machjet (Machjet International) Hawker Beechcraft B200 King Air VH-ZSY visited Rockhampton Airport from Cairns and Townsville.

The Queensland Government Airwing (State of Queensland) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SGQ visited Rockhampton Airport from Mount Isa once again.  

Brisbane-based Crockett Aviation Group Beech B200 King Air VH-FAQ visited the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site from Archerfield and the Sunshine Coast.  This looks to be a weekly Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) run.

Flight One (Services) Beech B200 King Air VH-FON visited Injune Aerodrome from Archerfield and Toowoomba.

Austrek Aviation Beech B200 Super King Air VH-ZGD also visited Injune Aerodrome but just from Toowoomba.

And Breson (Toowoomba) Beech B200 King Air turboprops VH-WXB, VH-DYN and VH-XDW all visited Roma Airport from Toowoomba-Wellcamp.

Finally, also on Thursday 1 December, recently registered (to 'Red Rock' near Comet) Cessna 208B Grand Caravan VH-RTC flew up from Archerfield to that property.

UPDATE!  Over the course of the week, VH-RTC was noted flying around the Central Highlands and then up to Mackay Airport on Sunday 4 December.  On Monday 5 December, VH-RTC flew across to Rockhampton Airport before later departing to Bundaberg Airport and then back to Archerfield.

Of interest, it appears that the Cessna Caravan ferried into Archerfield from overseas via Cairns Airport (pictured) still wearing the American Registration marking of N688FA at the start of September.

And Bunderra Cattle Co Piper PA-46-350P Malibu Mirage VH-KNV flew from Rockhampton Airport to Toowoomba and Rolleston Aerodrome before returning to Rocky.

Babcock Offshore Services Australasia Sikorsky S-92A Helibus Helicopter VH-NVU Pops into CQ Airports - Plus More!

On Saturday 19 November, there was an interesting visitor to pop into a couple of Central Queensland Airports in the form of Babcock Offshore Services Australasia Sikorsky S-92A Helibus VH-NVU.

The hard to track helicopter looked to fly into Roma Airport from Archerfield before then calling into Longreach Airport and then all stops to Darwin.

UPDATE!  On Monday 21 November, it seemed that VH-NVU was operating around Charters Towers Aerodrome.

Meanwhile, also on Saturday 19 November, Brescon (Toowoomba) Beech B200 King Air VH-WXB departed the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site bound for Toowoomba-Wellcamp.  It had arrived into Labona from Wellcamp the previous day.

Brisbane-based Avcair Cessna 425 Conquest 1 VH-BSM arrived into Emerald Airport from its Archerfield base.  It later departed to Quilpie and is due to return to Archerfield on Sunday 20 November.

Jetstream Electrical (Darwin) Piper PA-30-160 Twin Comanche VH-NEE was noted flying around the Central West including Longreach, Blackall and Injune Airports.  Of interest, VH-NEE seems to have flown down from its Darwin base at the start of last week and was heard to be using the radio callsign of "Sparky 423".

Airlie Beach-based Gippsaero GA8 Airvan VH-WSU looked to complete a flight from the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour down towards Emerald (or the Goonoo Feedlot near Comet) and then back to Shute.

And Brisbane-based New Zealand Aerospace CT/4A Airtrainer VH-YBD/A19-050 was spotted visiting Maryborough Airport from Watts Bridge.


Finally, also on Saturday 19 November, Air Charter Services / Flight Options (Australia) Embraer EMB-505 Phenom 300 bizjet VH-VKX flew up from Brisbane to Hamilton Island Airport.  It then flew across to Ayers Rock and then back to Brisbane.

Brisbane-based Teys Australia Cessna 525 Citation CJ2 Bizjet VH-TEY Calls into CQ Airports - Plus More!

On Thursday 13 October, Brisbane-based Teys Australia Cessna 525 Citation CJ2 bizjet VH-TEY flew up from Archerfield to land at Moura Aerodrome.  It then flew out to Alpha Aerodrome before returning to Archerfield.

While Machjet (Machjet International) Cessna 525 Citation CJ1 bizjet VH-SIY flew up from its Sunshine Coast base to complete airwork at Biloela / Thangool Airport before then flying down to Archerfield.  Machjet / McDermott Aviation have now opened an operational base at Archerfield Airport in Brisbane.

And overnight on Wednesday 12 October, Avcair (Avgunn) LearJet 60 bizjet VH-ILJ visited Longreach Airport from Brisbane.

UPDATE!  Overnight on Thursday 13 October, VH-ILJ visited Mackay Airport from Brisbane.

Meanwhile, also on Thursday 13 October, West Wing Aviation / Helicopters Townsville Beech 58 Baron VH-ABP visited Rockhampton Airport from its Townsville base.

Brisbane-based Crockett Aviation Group Beech B200 King Air VH-FAQ visited the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site from Archerfield and the Sunshine Coast.

South Coast Aerial Services P/L (Victoria) Piper PA-31-325 VH-BRZ departed Longreach Airport for Injune Aerodrome as its closed tourist charter flight continued.  VH-BRZ had arrived into Longreach Airport a couple of days prior.

UPDATE!  On Saturday 15 October, VH-BRZ departed Injune Aerodrome for Roma, Moree and Bankstown before returning to Melbourne (Moorabbin).

Auscott P/L Beechcraft B200GT King Air VH-NMW departed Toowoomba for Sydney and then flew up to Bundaberg Airport.  It then returned to Toowoomba.

Brisbane-based Bishopp Aviation SOCATA TBM-700 VH-VSV flew from Archerfield to the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour.

Bunderra Cattle Co Piper PA-46-350P Malibu Mirage VH-KNV flew across from Rolleston Aerodrome to Rockhampton Airport.

BPW Aviation / Airspeed Aviation Beech 58 Baron VH-SQC visited Bundaberg Airport from its Tamworth base.

And Australian Wings Academy Diamond DA40-D VH-YHL visited Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport from its Gold Coast base.

New MT Air Charters / Pilatus Australia Pilatus PC-24 Bizjet VH-PIL Calls into Hamilton Island Airport - Plus More!

On Monday 26 September, a nice new corporate bizjet made its first visit to Central Queensland in the form of new MT Air Charters / Pilatus Australia Pilatus PC-24 Super Versatile Jet VH-PIL.

It looked to arrive from and then later return to the Gold Coast - where it is recently pictured above.

Of interest, VH-PIL was registered in August and delivered to Adelaide at the start of the month and seems to be the ninth aircraft to wear that registration marking!

The 'old' VH-PIL was a Pilatus PC-12/47E and was re-registered as VH-STE in late May 2018.

Meanwhile, also on Monday 26 November, Execujet Australia Bombardier CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjet VH-VSZ visited Hamilton Island Airport from Sydney.

Jampair P/L (Navair Flight Operations) Embraer EMB-505 Phenom 300E bizjet VH-NSQ flew up from Sydney to Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport and then down to Bankstown.

McDermott Aviation Group / Machjet International Cessna 525A CitationJet CJ2 bizjet VH-SUY looked to depart Longreach Airport for Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.  It had arrived from those places the previous day.

And in the wee small hours on Sunday 25 September, Avcair (Avgunn) LearJet 60 bizjet VH-ILJ visited Rockhampton Airport from Brisbane.

Finally, also on Monday 26 September, Kirkhope Aviation (Victoria) Cessna 208B Grand Caravan VH-PRK departed Longreach Airport for Injune Aerodrome.

The Recreational Flying Company Cessna 421C Golden Eagle VH-UTC landed at Longreach Airport from Newcastle Waters before it then departed to Isisford, Mount Isa and back to Newcastle Waters.

And Regional Express (REX) SAAB 340B VH-ZRI as called into Bundaberg Airport from Brisbane as PFY9384.  It later returned to Brisbane but as PFY9985.

A Few Nice Corporate Bizjets Around Whitsundays Airports - Plus More!

On Saturday 6 August, Australian Corporate Jet Centres' operated Embraer EMB-135BJ Legacy bizjet VH-VLT was spotted visiting Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport.  It looked to arrive from and then later depart back to its Melbourne (Essendon) base.



While re-registered Airlift New Zealand / Flight Options (Australia) Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign bizjet VH-ZEK flew up from Brisbane to Hamilton Island Airport before then flying across to Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport where it appears to be staying.

UPDATE!  On Monday 8 August, VH-ZEK departed Proserpine Airport for Brisbane.

During the afternoon Air Charter Services / Flight Options (Australia) Embraer EMB-505 Phenom 300 bizjet VH-VKX flew up to Hamilton Island from Brisbane and Melbourne (Essendon) before later returning directly to Brisbane.

Pilatus PC-12/47 VH-DNG flew into Hamilton Island Airport from Dingadee and Armidale.  At the time of writing, it is due to return direct to Dingadee early on Sunday 7 August.

And the locally-based Embraer EMB-550 Legacy 500 bizjet N142GZ flew back 'home' to Mackay Airport from Scone.  It had flown out to Brisbane earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, also on Saturday 6 August, ZephAir Australia Piper PA-34-220T Seneca VH-YSI departed Mackay Airport for Biloela / Thangool Airport and then the Gold Coast.  It had arrived in late July.  VH-YSI appears to have ended up in Victoria now.

While Armada Aviation (of Ringwood in Victoria) Pilatus PC-12 VH-NWI flew down from Cairns to Injune Aerodrome on what seems to be another closed tourist charter flight.

UPDATE!  On Monday 8 August, VH-NWI departed the region and returned to Melbourne (Essendon).

And Brescon (Toowoomba) Beech B200 King Air VH-DYN flew up Archerfield to the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site.  It then continued up to Bowen Aerodrome.

UPDATE!  On Sunday 7 August, VH-DYN departed Bowen Aerodrome and returned Archerfield and Toowoomba.

Finally, also on Saturday 6 August, Link Airways (Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation) SAAB 340B VH-VEO was spotted visiting Emerald Airport.


VH-VEO looked to arrive from and then later depart back to Brisbane.

Townsville Airlines (Flightech Air Logistics) Beech B200 King Air VH-WZN Calls into Rockhampton Airport - Qld Police Run! - Plus More!

On Friday 22 July, Townsville Airlines (Flightech Air Logistics) Beech B200 King Air VH-WZN was noted arriving into Rockhampton Airport from Cairns and Townsville.

VH-WZN then departed Rockhampton Airport for Brisbane before later returning back up to Townsville and Cairns.

It seemed to be operating the regular Queensland Police Service flights down and back up the Queensland coast.

And Armada Aviation (of Ringwood in Victoria) Pilatus PC-12 VH-NWI flew down from Cairns to Emerald and then Injune Airports on what seems to be its continuing closed tourist charter flight.

Meanwhile, also on Friday 22 July, Stroud Aviation and Transportation (Boonah) / Navair Flight Operations Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-SHI visited the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site from Archerfield.

Finally, a couple of larger movements, also on Friday 22 July, with Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 jet VH-QQY flying into Hamilton Island Airport from Brisbane via Sydney on a closed tourist charter flight as UTY1851/2.

And Pionair Australia British Aerospace BAe-146-200 VH-SAZ was noted arriving into Charleville Airport from Brisbane as 'SFZ649' / "Skyforce 649".

UPDATE!  On Sunday 24 July, VH-SAZ departed Charleville Airport and returned to Brisbane but as 'SFZ650' / "Skyforce 650".

Capital Jet Charter (Canberra) Cessna 525B CitationJet CJ3 Bizjet VH-TCS Calls into Roma Airport - Plus More! - UPDATED!!

On Wednesday 29 June and again on Thursday 30 June, new Capital Jet Charter (Canberra) Cessna 525B CitationJet CJ3 bizjet VH-TCS was noted visiting Roma Airport.  On Wednesday it looked to arrive from Canberra and Orange and then depart to Moruya and Mount Gambier.  On Thursday it returned to Roma Airport from Mount Gambier before departing back to Orange and Canberra.


Of interest, VH-TCS looked to arrive into Australia from the USA via Townsville in the middle of May.

Fellow Cessna 525 Citation CJ1 bizjet VH-SIY of Machjet (Machjet International) visited Hamilton Island Airport from its Sunshine Coast base.

Meanwhile, also on Wednesday 29 June, Townsville Airlines Beech 1900D VH-JYA was noted arriving into Longreach Airport from Cairns and Julia Creek.  It then departed to Brisbane.

Kirkhope Aviation (Victoria) Cessna 208B Grand Caravan VH-PRK was noted departing Longreach Airport for Injune.  It seems to be on a closed tourist charter flight out of Melbourne (Moorabbin).

Gulf Aircraft Textron Aviation (Cessna) 208 Caravan VH-PYO also visited Longreach Airport, arriving from the North-West and then looking to depart to Brisbane.

While Moorabbin Aviation Services (Victoria) Raytheon B200 King Air VH-VTQ flew into Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport from Melbourne (Essendon) and Narrabri.  It had skipped across from Melbourne (Moorabbin) late the previous day.

And RDO Equipment (ex Vanderfield) Cessna 210N VH-JSC visited Emerald Airport from Toowoomba.  

UPDATE!  It looked like VH-JSC also visited Emerald Airport again from Toowoomba on Thursday 30 June.

Falcon Air (NSW) Cirrus Design Corp. SF50 Vision Jet VH-LCR (ex N755DS) Pops into Emerald Airport - Plus More!

On Sunday 26 June, Falcon Air (NSW) Cirrus Design Corp. SF50 Vision Jet VH-LCR (ex N755DS) was noted passing through Emerald Airport.

It arrived from Bankstown and Newcastle (Williamtown) (pictured) and later departed to Weipa.

UPDATE!  On Monday 27 June, VH-LCR flew back South from Weipa into Longreach Airport before then departing to Tamworth and Bankstown.

The Vision Jet was re-registered from N755DS at the end of May and this is its first visit into the region with its new Australian registration marking.

Meanwhile, a couple of other bizjets noted around the region, also on Sunday 26 June, included Gulf Coast Aviation Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-KXM which arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Tamworth and later departed to Vanrook Station near Normanton.

Air Gold Coast Cessna 525 Citation CJ1 bizjet VH-CDG arrived into Hamilton Island Airport from the Gold Coast.

And McDermott Aviation Group / Machjet International Cessna 525A CitationJet CJ2 bizjet VH-SUY also called into Hamilton Island Airport but from its Sunshine Coast base.  It later departed up to Cairns.

Finally, several lighties around the region, also on Sunday 26 June, included Kirkhope Aviation (of Melbourne) Beech B200 King Air VH-ZOK which arrived into Longreach Airport from Cooktown and Laura.  It seems to be on another closed tourist charter and flew to Far-North Queensland around a week ago.

UPDATES!  On Tuesday 28 June, VH-ZOK departed Longreach Airport for Injune Aerodrome.  On Thursday 30 June, VH-ZOK returned to Melbourne (Moorabbin) from Cunnamulla at the end of its journey.

Aircair Aviation (Aircair Helicopters) Cessna 340A VH-MPQ called into Emerald Airport from Moree before it later departed to Pinnarendi. 

UPDATE!  On Monday 27 June, VH-MPQ returned South from Pinnarendi and Atherton to Emerald Airport before returning to Moree (Beela).

Rockwell International 112 VH-PJO departed Emerald Airport for Toowoomba before then flying into Rockhampton Airport.  It had arrived into Emerald Airport from Toowoomba the previous day.

Cessna 208 Caravan VH-DZZ, which is operated by the Skydive the Beach Group, flew out of the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour for the Shellharbour at Wollongong.  Fellow Cessna 208 Caravan VH-DZQ earlier flew down from Cairns and seems to have taking up skydiving operations at the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour.

And ACT-based Robinson R44 helicopter VH-PNY arrived into Rockhampton Airport from the South-East.

Execujet Australia Bombardier Global 6000 Bizjet VH-YAI Pops into Hamilton Island Airport - Plus More!

Early on Thursday 27 January, Execujet Australia Bombardier BD-700-1A10 Global 6000 bizjet VH-YAI was noted arriving into Hamilton Island Airport.  It looked to touch down from Cairns.

After a short time on the ground, VH-YAI then departed to Sydney.

Also noted visiting Hamilton Island Airport, also on Thursday 27 January, was Moorabbin Aviation Services (Victoria) Cessna S550 Citation SII bizjet VH-JLU which arrived from and later departed back to Sydney.

And after arriving the previous day, Spectrum Air Hire (of Sydney) Beech 76 Duchess VH-IPH was noted departing Hamilton Island Airport for Mackay Airport.  At the time of writing, it was due to then continue to Bundaberg Airport on Friday 28 January.

Meanwhile, also on Thursday 27 January, the locally-based Embraer EMB-550 Legacy 500 bizjet N142GZ was back in the air, noted departing Mackay Airport for Sydney.

While Air Gold Coast Cessna 525 Citation CJ1 bizjet VH-CDG was noted arriving into Roma Airport from the Gold Coast via Lismore. It the returned directly to its Gold Coast base.

And also noted visiting Roma Airport were Brescon (Toowoomba) Beech B200 King Air turboprops VH-WXB and VH-XDW.  The familiar visitors to Roma Airport on this occasion both arrived from and later departed back to Toowoomba-Wellcamp.

Finally, some other King Air turboprops noted around the region, also on Thursday 27 January, Avcair (Easternwell Group) Raytheon B200 King Air VH-EWG looked to visit Chinchilla, Injune, Roma and Miles Airports while on a flight out of and back to Toowoomba.

Austrek Aviation Beech B200 Super King Air VH-ZGD visited Rolleston Aerodrome from Toowoomba.

And Machjet (Machjet International) Hawker Beechcraft B200 King Air VH-ZSY looked to depart Charters Towers Aerodrome for the Sunshine Coast.  It had arrived there via Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport the previous afternoon.

Clive Palmer's Mineralogy Company Bombardier Global Express XRS Bizjet VH-UPH at Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport Yet Again! - Plus More!

Early on Thursday 16 December, Clive Palmer's Mineralogy Company's registered Bombardier BD-700-1A10 Global Express XRS bizjet VH-UPH was noted visiting Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport yet again.  It looked to arrive from and then later depart back to Brisbane.

Meanwhile, also on Thursday 16 December, some Corporate King Air action in the region saw the Queensland Government Airwing (State of Queensland) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SGQ depart Gladstone Airport for Brisbane.  It had arrived at Gladstone Airport from Moura Airport on Wednesday 15 December having also visited Moranbah Airport at the start of the week - see Blog post below!

FKG Air (Redjet Aviation) Hawker Beechcraft B200GT VH-FKB visited Bundaberg Airport from Toowoomba and Archerfield.

Mandalay Two P/L Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SCQ visited Injune Aerodrome from its Toowoomba base.

And McDermott Aviation Group / Machjet International Beech B200 King Air VH-MWZ departed the Sunshine Coast for Archerfield and Emerald Airports before it then up to the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site and back to Emerald Airport.  VH-MWZ then departed Emerald Airport for Archerfield. 

Finally, also on Thursday 16 December, BPW Aviation / Airspeed Aviation of Scone, New South Wales, Cessna 404 Titan VH-SKV arrived into Mackay Airport from Tamworth. It the departed Mackay Airport for Archerfield. 

Austrek Aviation Cessna 310 VH-DZX flew up from Toowoomba to Woorabinda and Duaringa Aerodromes.  It is planned to reverse this run and return to Toowoomba in Friday 17 December.

Hinterland Aviation Cessna 310R VH-TFY was noted visiting Rockhampton Airport.  It looked to arrive from and then later return back to Cairns and was noted flying as 'HND728' / "Hinterland 728".

And  the Queensland Police Service (Airwing) (State of Queensland) Raytheon B1900D VH-PSK flew down from to Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) and Rockhampton Airports before it then returned North to Townsville and Cairns.
