A Record Breaking Week at Moranbah Airport Last Week

As the Moranbah Airport redevelopment nears completion, we have discovered that during the last week, a record-breaking QantasLink-operated 52 flights flew between Brisbane and the growing coal mining town.

Of course, most of these flights were regular passenger transport (RPT) scheduled services operated by QantasLink, however 17 of the flights were fly-in fly-out (FIFO) charter flights, which in most occassions, were also operated by QantasLink Dash-8 aircraft.

Incidentally, with the introduction of additional RPT services to Emerald Airport, with some now being operated by jets, a total of 57 RPT flights operated between Brisbane and Emerald, operated by both QantasLink and Virgin Australia.
