Bundaberg Based Hawker Beechcraft G58 Baron N298WA Departs to New Zealand

After possibly a failed attempt over the weekend - maybe because of weather (??) - locally-based Hawker Beechcraft G58 Baron N298WA was noted departing Bundaberg Airport on Monday 7 March for Lord Howe Island and Auckland in New Zealand.

N298WA had flown to Lord Island and back to Bundaberg on Sunday 6 March.

It appears that the Baron spends around half of the year in New Zealand and the half based at Bundaberg Airport.  N298WA had arrived at Bundy in June 2015 after completing the crossing from New Zealand.

N298WA recently spent time in Cairns - where it was captured above by the fantastic FNQ Skies Blog - receiving attention for what appeared to be a broken transponder. It returned to Bundy from Cairns on Friday 26 February.
