All Angles Covered as Qantas Airways Boeing B747-438(ER) VH-OEH Pays a Visit to Rockhampton Airport

On Saturday 27 July, Qantas Airways Boeing B747-438(ER) VH-OEH made a spectacular late morning arrival into Rockhampton Airport.

It positioned into Rocky from Sydney as QFA6162. VH-OEH then taxied in parked on Gate 6 on the Southern end of the Rockhampton airport parking apron.

VH-OEH was one of many great aircraft to visit Rockhampton airport on Saturday to transport personnel and cargo home to their respective cities and bases after the completion of joint Military Exercise Talisman Sabre 2019 (TS19).

The jumbo jet was promptly loaded with a full flight of personnel and their bags.  VH-OEH then departed direct to Darwin as QFA1362.

At the time or writing, VH-OEH has returned to Rockhampton Airport, touching down from Darwin but as QFA6163 .  It is expected to depart before dawn on Sunday 28 July to Adelaide and not return.  It is however expected that another Qantas Boeing B747-400 – possibly VH-OJU – will call into Rockhampton Airport on Monday 29 July.

UPDATE!  Indeed before dawn on Sunday 28 July, VH-OEH departed Rockhampton Airport for Adelaide as QFA1364.  It then positioned to Sydney as QFA6164.

VH-OEH arrives into Adelaide Airport early Sunday

Sincere thanks to the local plane spotters for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos of a great visitor to Rockhampton Airport!
