The RAAF's 35 Squadron C-27J Spartan battlefield airlifter aircraft looked to have earlier arrived from its 'home' at RAAF Base Amberley via Williamson Airfield within the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA). It departed Rockhampton Airport and looked to return to Amberley.
A34-009 was heard to be using the radio callsign of "Wallaby 35".
Meanwhile, also noted calling into Williamson Airfield, also on Friday 26 July, was RAAF Boeing C-17A Globemaster III transport aircraft A41-208 "Stallion 72". It looked to arrive from Amberley and later depart to RAAF Base Edinburgh in South Australia.
