Queensland Government Airwing (State of Queensland) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SGQ Calls into Longreach Airport

Another quiet day in the skies of Central Queensland, but on Monday 13 April, an interesting visitor to Longreach Airport was the Queensland Government Airwing (State of Queensland) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SGQ.

It arrived from Brisbane and later departed to Mount Isa.

VH-SGQ then returned direct to Brisbane.

Meanwhile, also on Monday 13 April,  the Queensland Police Service (Airwing) (State of Queensland) Cessna 560 Citation Ultra bizjet VH-PSU was also 'planned' to call into Longreach Airport from Brisbane and continue to Mount Isa, however, as shown, VH-PSU ended up flying direct to Mount Isa, albeit over the top of Longreach Airport where it left a nice contrail.

Also at Longreach Airport, also on Monday 13 April, Air Gold Coast Beech 58 Baron VH-YDC departed back to its Gold Coast base after it arrived from there on Sunday 12 April.  According to their Facebook page, they Baron transported doctors and medical equipment to Longreach.

While on Thursday 9 April, Pekal Aviation of Boggabilla (NSW) Piper PA-31-325 VH-TRA was noted visiting Longreach Airport twice during a busy day of flying.  It arrived from its Goondiwindi base and departed to Julia Creek before returning back to Goondiwindi again via Longreach Airport later in the day.

Finally, one other nice light General Aviation (GA) movement into the region also on Monday 13 April was Flight One (Services) Beech B200 King Air VH-FON which was noted arriving into Mackay Airport from its Archerfield base.  It then departed to Townsville and Cairns before later returning to Archerfield.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter Greg W who was at the right place at the right time at Longreach Airport to capture these great photos!
