Recent Commercial and General Aviation Spotting at Central Queensland Airports

There has been a wide variety of commercial and general aviation aircraft also spotted in the CQ region over the last couple of weeks.

At Mackay Airport over the weekend of Saturday 11 June and Sunday 12 June were the following aircraft:

QantasLink (Sunstate Airlines) Bombardier Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOW which is pictured on short finals still wearing Taronga Zoo and Dubbo Zoo livery.


Pel-Air SAAB 340A Freighter VH-KDK is pictured parked on the airport apron. One of three of these types usually sits at the airport most days.


Australasian Jet Cessna 402s VH-ZMG and VH-ZME, which are used for island transfers and fly-in fly-out charter flights.


Whitsunday Helicopters brand new Eurocopter/Aerospatiale AS.350B2 helicopter VH-DKA.


Lastly, GAF N22C Nomad VH-ATO was also spotted parked up. It is registered in New South Wales.


Spotted at Rockhampton Airport recently was Machjet (McDermott Aviation / Heli-Lift Australia) of Cooroy (Sunshine Coast) Beech B200 King Air was photographed on Thursday 9 June. This aircraft also operates fly-in fly-out charters between New Caledonia and Brisbane.


Also at Rockhampton Airport, this time on Monday 13 June, was Royal Flying Doctor Service Hawker Beechcraft B200C King Air VH-FDI. This aircraft is relatively new to the fleet and wears the Flying Doctor Service's new colours.


Also spotted was a the wreck of an unidentified Grumman G-164B Ag-Cat.



Lastly, in the earlier evening of Thursday 16 June, another Grumman G-164B Ag-Cat, registered VH-ZCC in Victoria, flew into Clermont Aerodrome for fuel.
