A Few Bizjets Around Central Queensland Airports This Week

We've reported on a couple of interesting corporate bizjet movements this week, but there have been a few others that are worth mentioning.

Edwards Coaches is a bus and coach transport company based in beautiful Armidale in New South Wales.  They also operate a growing fleet of prop and bizjet aircraft.  Their two Cessna 525 Citation bizjets - CJ1 VH-KXL and CJ2 VH-RJB - have both had a busy week of flying - including trips to several Central Queensland Airports.

As we reported below, CJ2 VH-RJB departed its Armidale base for Brisbane and then Mackay on Tuesday 16 October.  It then flew to Moranbah, before heading to Gladstone where it stayed overnight.  On Wednesday 17 October, VH-RJB then flew to Thangool / Biloela, before departing back to Brisbane and then Armidale.

CJ1 VH-KXL departed its Armidale base for Cessnock and then early on Thursday 18 October it was noted arriving at Emerald Airport.  In the early afternoon, VH-KXL then departed Emerald for Rockhampton, before eventually departing back to Cessnock and then Armidale after dark.

As well as VH-KXL, there were a couple of other Cessna Citation bizjets that have passed through Emerald Airport this week.  On Tuesday 16 October, I noted Aeromil Pacific Cessna 560 Citation Ultra VH-SJP which had earlier arrived from the Sunshine Coast.  It departed back there on Thursday 18 October.

Meanwhile Queensland Police Service (Airwing) Cessna 560 Citation Ultra VH-PSU was noted departing Emerald for Brisbane on Wednesday 17 October.  VH-PSU was noted at Mackay and Rockhampton Airports on Friday 19 October.

One of Central Queensland's own bizjets - Cessna 550 Citation II VH-JMK - which is operated out of Rockhampton by J.M. Kelly (Project Builders) was noted flying to Brisbane and back on Thursday 18 October.

Also at Rockhampton Airport on Thursday 18 October was Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 A37-002, which is operated by the VIP 34 Squadron in Canberra.

Lastly, over on Hamilton Island, it has been a little bit quieter (compared to the last couple of weeks!), with only a frequent visitor in the form of Balmoral Air Dassault Falcon 2000EX VH-WIO (pictured below during a previous visit) arriving from Mudgee on Thursday 18 October.

Also Pacific Real Estate Cessna 510 Citation Mustang VH-YDZ was noted departing Hamilton Island for the Illawarra Regional Airport on Thursday 18 October.
