Cessna 650 Citation VII Bizjet VH-ING Pops into Thangool Airport - It's Been a Busy Couple of Weeks for Corporates in CQ!

Victorian-based Cessna 650 Citation VII bizjet VH-ING called into Biloela / Thangool Airport on Wednesday 25 June, touching down from Bankstown and Melbourne (Essendon).  As posted on our Facebook page, it was 'scheduled' to touch down at Rockhampton but never called into the beef capital.  VH-ING departed back to Bankstown later in the day.

The visit of VH-ING has capped off a great couple of weeks for corporate aircraft calling into Central Queensland Airports, including a couple of great overseas visitors.

As usual, a couple of nice bizjets have called into Hamilton Island in recent days including Dassault Falcon 900EX N312PV, which arrived from Cairns on Wednesday 18 June.  Information suggests that it flew out to Sydney on Saturday 21 June.  Also, Balmoral Air Dassault Falcon 2000LX VH-WIO also called into Hamo again last week, arriving from and departing back to Bankstown on Friday 19 June.

Meanwhile, an interesting arrival into Hamilton Island on Friday 20 June was JetGo Australia Embraer E-135LR jet VH-JTG, which made an interesting trip from Cairns to Hamilton Island via Charters Towers as JG01.  On what appeared to be a closed charter flight, VH-JTG departed Hamo on Sunday 22 June for Ballina/Byron Gateway Airport and Sydney, again as JG01.

Perhaps the most interesting bizjet to call into CQ was Thai-registered BAe 125-800B HS-EMG which arrived at Mackay Airport on Tuesday 17 June from Darwin and Johor Bahru in Malaysia.  With details still a bit sketchy about the operator of the bizjet - although one website suggests that it is a med-evac aircraft - it departed on Wednesday 18 June for Darwin and Singapore (Seletar).

A definite med-evac flight into Mackay Airport this week was performed by Careflight Queensland (Aeromed) LearJet 45 VH-VVI, which called in from Townsville on Tuesday 24 June.  It later departed to Brisbane.  It was noted using its 'new' flight number and callsign of "Ambulance 451".

Finally, out at Emerald Airport last week, a nice quartet of corporate aircraft called in during last week, including MacArthur Jet Charter Cessna 550 Citation Bravo VH-SCC, Brenzil Dassault Falcon 7X VH-CRW, Mackellar Mining Equipment / Flight Options (Australia) Cessna 560 Citation Ultra VH-MMC and Corporate Aviation Bell 429 Helicopter VH-EQP, which all called in at various times for various stays.
