Exercise Wallaby 2015 - Six RSAF F-16D Block 52 Version Fighting Falcon Jets Touch Down at Rockhampton Airport

As predicted, six Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) General Dynamics (Lockheed Martin) F-16D Block 52 Version Fighting Falcon jets have arrived at Rockhampton Airport on Friday 16 October, flying in direct from Darwin as "Singa 3512".

The six F-16s - serials 666, 667, 670, 676, 677 and 680 - are all flown by the RSAF's 145th Squadron out of Changi Air Base in Singapore.

As shown above, '666' in fact had to have two attempts at landing after perhaps coming in too fast the first time, it performed a touch and go and went around again, landing successfully on its second attempt.

After all gathering at the end of Runway 15 at Rockhampton, all six F-16s taxied up 'Juliet' taxiway and were met by the 'hornet checker' before proceeding to their parking positions on the Northern military hardstand at Rockhampton Airport.

It is not expected that the F-16s will take to the air over this coming weekend.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotters 'IAD' and Kayanne H who were two of a few spotters on the scene at Rockhampton Airport to capture the arrival of these wonderful jets.
