'Infamous' Piper Twin Comanche PA-30 VH-DUI Sold and Departs Maryborough Airport

In September 2015 we reported on the unusual story from Maryborough Airport where a New South Wales registered 1965 built Piper PA-30 Twin Comanche - registered VH-DUI - was detained and searched by Queensland Police following the identification of two Perth men, who flew the plane to Maryborough, as being alleged "drug kingpins".

In December 2015, VH-DUI was sold to a private owner in Sydney and on Tuesday 12 January, it finally departed Maryborough destined for Bankstown.

You can read the original story - including more photos - HERE.

Meanwhile, Cessna 172 VH-DZW, which is flown by locally-based Mile High Aviation, has been quite busy operating local flights out of and around Maryborough along with a flight to the Sunshine Coast and back also on Tuesday 12 January.

On Wednesday 13 January, Sunshine Coast-based Aero Dynamic Flight Academy Cessna 310 VH-NFE popped into Maryborough Airport for part of the day.

Finally, on Monday 11 January, the Queensland Police Service (Airwing) Raytheon B1900D VH-PSK called into Maryborough Airport during a busy day of flying where it also called into Cairns, Mackay, Rockhampton and Brisbane.
