After Being Damaged in Brisbane Storm on Sunday - General Aviation Maintenance (GAM) Dornier DO 228-202 VH-VJN Returns to Emerald Airport Wednesday - But Breaks Down

As was widely reported on national news bulletins, storms passed through parts of Brisbane on Sunday 13 November, including a massive 'super cell' storm passed through Brisbane Airport causing damage to several aircraft that were parked on the various aprons.  One such aircraft which was damaged - believed to be an undercarriage collapse and wingtip damage - was General Aviation Maintenance (GAM) Dornier DO 228-202 VH-VJN.

With GAM now operating the week-daily freight run from Brisbane to Biloela / Thangool and Emerald Airports with its Dorniers, sistership VH-VJE was noted operating these flights on Monday 14 November and again on Tuesday 15 November.

Then on Wednesday 16 November, and after many hours of maintenance, VH-VJN was spotted back at Emerald Airport after flying in during the early morning.

But, unfortunately, VH-VJN must still have problems as it remains parked at Emerald Airport and has not departed since arriving on Wednesday morning.

On Thursday 17 November, VH-VJE was back at Emerald Airport operating the freight run, which of interest, departs Emerald Airport and flys directly back to Brisbane on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, but flys via Rockhampton Airport on Mondays and Fridays.

VH-VJE and VH-VJN are also pictured with GAM AeroCommander 500-S VH-YJS which is currently based Emerald Airport operating the weekdaily freight run to Barcaldine and Longreach Airports and back.

UPDATE!  On Friday 18 November, VH-VJE operated into Emerald Airport again and was spotted visiting Rockhampton Airport while on the evening freight run back to Brisbane.

VH-VJN still remains parked at Emerald Airport.
