On Thursday 17 November, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7ES / E-7A Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft - A30-001 - was noted completing a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport as "Mitchell 13".

It flew down to Rocky from Townsville and was then later noted flying around the Sunshine Coast.

Meanwhile, also on Thursday 17 November, RAAF Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-005 was also heard to complete a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport as "Dragon 14".

It is believed that earlier on Thursday, the KC-30A was involved with refuelling two flights of RAAF McDonnell Douglas F/A-18A/B Classic Hornet aircraft which flew out of RAAF Base Williamtown and headed into Townsville.

Indeed A39-005 was noted to have flown South to Rocky from Townsville before completing the overshoot.  It then departed to RAAF Base Amberley.
