QGAir Rescue (State of Queensland) Agusta AW139 Helicopter VH-ESH Completes Med-evac at Mackay Base Hospital

Perhaps making the type's first visit to Mackay Base Hospital on a medical evacuation flight on Saturday 16 March was Queensland Government (QGAir) Rescue (State of Queensland) Agusta AW139 helicopter VH-ESH.

It was noted operating as "Rescue 521" and has initially departed Townsville Airport for Collinsville before flying to Mackay Base Hospital.  VH-ESH then flew across to Mackay Airport to refuel before it then returned to Townsville.

The Agusta has been operating out of Townsville Airport since January and has also been noted completing medical evacuation flights into both Hamilton Island Airport and Proserpine Hospital in recent weeks.

VH-ESH continues to operated at Townsville alongside QGAir Rescue's leased Helicorp (Toll Helicopters) Bell Helicopter Textron 412EP VH-LWI and their own Bell 412 VH-ESD.  Another QGAir Rescue Agusta AW139 helicopter VH-EZJ is presently operating out of Cairns as "Rescue 510".
