QGAir Rescue (State of Queensland) Leonardo S.P.A. Helicopters (Agusta) AW139 Helicopter VH-EGF Ferries North via Rockhampton Airport

On Wednesday 23 October, Queensland Government (QGAir) Rescue (State of Queensland)  Leonardo S.P.A. Helicopter (Agusta) AW139 helicopters VH-EGF was photographed on the ground at Rockhampton Airport.  It was noted ferrying North from Archerfield to Townsville.

It is believed that VH-EGF was ferrying North to replace fellow QGAir Rescue AW139 helicopter VH-EGK which ferried South also via Rockhampton Airport on Saturday 19 October and has looked to enter the QGAir Rescue maintenance hangar at Archerfield Airport in Brisbane.

As we have mentioned previously, this is part of the 'rotational system' the service utilises to ensure the even distribution of flying hours on each of the QGAir Rescue helicopters.  This system avoids the need to have multiple helicopters offline for simultaneous scheduled maintenance.

Meanwhile, also arriving back into Rockhampton Airport, also on Wednesday 23 October, was the distinctive Babcock Mission Critical Services Australasia Agusta (Bell) AB412 Helicopter VH-LSA which was photographed earlier this week parked outside the RACQ Central Queensland Rescue (CQ Rescue) helicopter service hangar at Mackay Airport.

Since it arrived into Rockhampton Airport in mid-August, VH-LSA has been noted operating for the locally-based Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service (CHRS) - and has even had a small CHRS sticker added to the front.
