Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-200 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-006 Missed Approach at Rockhampton Airport

On Tuesday 23 March, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-200 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-006 was noted completing a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport.  It was flying as "Dragon 45".

It looked to fly up from RAAF Base Amberley and then continue to Townsville where it landed for some time.  A39-006 "Dragon 45" later returned directly to Amberley.

Meanwhile, also on Tuesday 23 March, fellow KC-30A A39-004 "Dragon 31" came up at high level from Amberley to the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) where it looked to then turn around and head back to Amberley.

Of interest, A39-004 had earlier been joined by another KC-30A, A39-002, with both flying together on an air-to-air refuelling training flight out of Amberley as "Thumper".
