Astra Aerospace / Air Affairs (Australia) Learjet 35A Bizjet VH-LPS Pops into Longreach Airport - Plus More!

An interesting visitor to pass through Longreach Airport on Tuesday 20 June was Astra Aerospace / Air Affairs (Australia) Learjet 35A bizjet VH-LPS.  It looked to arrive direct from HMAS Albatross at Nowra in New South Wales and then depart to Weipa in Far North Queensland.

Information suggests that it is heading up to Far North Queensland to take on a medical evacuation role.

While Multiquip Poultry / Navair Flight Operations Embraer EMB-500 Phenom 100EV bizjet VH-MQX as "Navair 169" departed Mackay Airport for Archerfield.  It had arrived from Bankstown the previous day.

And Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-PAC visited Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport while on a flight out of and back to its Sunshine Coast base.

Meanwhile, also on Tuesday 20 June, Dalydine P/L (Pilatus Australia) Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-PDE flew up from Mungindi to Planet Downs and later down to Archerfield.

The Queensland Government Airwing (State of Queensland) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SGQ flew up from Brisbane to Rockhampton Airport and then Townsville and Cairns.  It had flown South earlier in the day.

And McDermott Aviation Group / Machjet International aircraft were noted using a new company flight number and callsign of 'MC' / "Machflight".

Beech B200 King Air turboprops VH-ZSY as "Machflight 55", VH-NSN as "Machflight 22" and then "Machflight 11" were both heard flying out of Cairns and Townsville.

Finally, also on Tuesday 20 June, there were the 'usual' Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charters into the region including Southern Air Beech 1900 VH-YSO which visited Moranbah Airport once again.  It arrived from Latrobe Valley and Bourke and then departed back to Latrobe Valley and then eventually to Melbourne (Moorabbin).

DeGunst Transport P/L Textron (Cessna) 208 Caravan VH-NPZ operated from Bundaberg Airport to Nebo Aerodrome and back direct (it seemed).

While Hinterland Aviation Cessna 208 Caravan VH-MRZ looked to fly down to Mackay Airport from Townsville and then to the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site and back to Mackay Airport and Townsville as HND2290/1/2/3.

And finally, after arriving the previous day, Skytrans Airlines Dash-8-300 VH-QQL operated once again out of Rockhampton Airport to Labona but it then continued to Townsville and then back to Labona and Rocky as SKP773/764/783/774.

Fellow Skytrans Dash-8-100 VH-QQI also arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Cairns late on Monday (as SKP531) and on Tuesday flew from Rocky to Labona and back as SKP777/8.  It then departed to Brisbane as SKP512.

Fellow Skytrans Dash-8-100 VH-QQB also arrived into Rockhampton Airport but from Brisbane as SKP511.
