Queensland Government Aircraft Depart - Plus Heaps More Action at Gladstone Airport on Monday

Local plane spotters Jamie C and Tash C were on hand as the visiting Queensland Government aircraft that were visiting the port city departed for Brisbane on Monday 26 August at the conclusion of the most recent Community Cabinet meeting held in the port city.

First to depart Gladstone for Brisbane was the Queensland Government (State of Queensland) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SGQ.

About an hour later, the Queensland Government (State of Queensland) Raytheon Hawker 850XP bizjet VH-SGY also departed Gladstone for Brisbane.

As seen above, as VH-SGY was departing, Virgin Australia Regional Airlines ATR 72-600 VH-FVY was spotted by Jamie and Tash also departing for Brisbane as VOZ1720.

One other noteworthy commercial movement at Gladstone Airport on Monday 26 August was QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOW which still wears its Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo colours.

Meanwhile, on the lighter side of Gladstone Airport on Monday 26 August, Victoria-based Cessna 310L VH-BDY was captured arriving and later taxiing to a parking spot.  Information suggests that VH-BDY may be on a big flight along the East Coast of Australia.

Beech A36 Bonanza VH-IDE was spotted departing to Redcliffe after earlier arriving it Proserpine  / Whitsunday Coast Airport base.

Aviation Tourism Australia (Mackay Helicopters) Bell 430 VH-HIA was also spotted arriving into Gladstone from its Mackay base.

Also spotted - but on Sunday 25 August by Michael F - was fellow Aviation Tourism Australia (HeliReef) Bell 206 VH-CKU.

Lastly, Michael captured some more fantastic images of a pair of visiting Jabiru ultralight aircraft that were reportedly visiting from Bundaberg.  Jabiru J-160 ultralight 55-3827 was spotted arriving early on Saturday 24 August - see post below - and unfortunately by Sunday 25 August it had a flat tyre!

With the tyre changed, 55-3827 soon departed in company with fellow Jabiru 55-3707 on their return to Bundy.

Lastly, Jamie captured some great images early on Sunday 25 August of the locally-based Careflight Bell 412EP VH-XCY as it conducting winching exercises on the North side of Gladstone Airport.

Some truly spectacular images from our Gladstone plane spotters - and we sincerely thank Jamie, Tash and Michael for sending through their images from a great couple of days of action at Gladstone Airport!
