QantasLink B717-200 VH-YQW 'Tassie Devil' Special Livery Surprise Visit to Rockhampton Airport late Friday

Making a very surprise visit to Rockhampton Airport very late on Friday 12 December was QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-YQW.

VH-YQW was initially positioned to Rocky as QJE6200 and then departed back to Brisbane just after midnight on Saturday 13 December as QJE1745 - a very much delayed scheduled service from the beef capital.

It appeared that fellow QantasLink B717-200 VH-NXJ broke down at Rockhampton after operating the inbound QJE1744 service from Brisbane earlier in the evening.

As seen above, VH-YQW wears very unique decals and is named 'The Tassie Devil'.  It is also one of five QantasLink B717 aircraft that has a 2-class configuration with 110 seats, along with Q-Streaming - Qantas' wireless entertainment system.  It is a fairly regular visitor to Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport, but this visit to Rockhampton was a great surprise!
