For the second day straight, QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXR was operating a scheduled service from Brisbane to Gladstone when it was forced to return to Brisbane due to 'technical issues'.

On Tuesday 9 December, VH-NXR was operating the morning QJE1708 service to Gladstone, but seemed to be only in the air for a matter of minutes before it landed back at Brisbane Airport.

On Monday 8 December, VH-NXR was operating as QJE1712 from Brisbane to Gladstone and was forced to return to Brisbane when near Bundaberg with 'technical issues'.
