The interesting variety of Mooney single-engine aircraft has descended upon Rockhampton Airport as the Australian Mooney Pilots Association (AMPA) - in association with locally-based Rose Aircraft Maintenance - host a Mooney maintenance seminar for pilots over Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 May.
AMPA is bringing Cliff Biggs, a very experienced Mooney maintainer and pilot, from the USA to present the seminar. They also enjoyed the hospitality of the Rockhampton Aero Club who hosted one of their monthly barbecues on Friday 6 May.
Local plane spotter Kayanne H popped out to Rockhampton Airport on Friday 6 May and captured some of the visiting Mooneys including:
Victoria-based M20K VH-MZY which earlier arrived from Roma.
Brisbane-based M20J VH-KCQ which is pictured arriving from Archerfield.
Victoria-based M20J VH-VDH which arrived from Taroom on Thursday 5 May.
Gold Coast-based M20J VH-MOQ.
Roma-based M20J VH-PCZ which is also pictured arriving from Archerfield.
Coffs Harbour-based M20F VH-DRJ which is pictured arriving from South Grafton.
And M20C VH-ERJ which arrived from Maryborough.
It is believed that at least two other Mooneys have arrived into Rocky on Friday 6 May with Brisbane-based M20K VH-WNP arriving from Archerfield and M20J VH-CVB arriving from Atherton via Gladstone.
Looks like a great weekend - see more at the AMPA website: http://www.mooney.org.au/
Sincere thanks to Kayanne H for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
