Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) NH Industries NH90 Helicopters Photographed Flying Between Shoalwater Bay and Camp Rocky near Rockhampton Airport

After only arriving into the country on the weekend - see Blog post below - two of the three Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) NH Industries NH90 helicopters were hard at work on Tuesday 9 July as they completed a couple of sorties from the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) to 'Camp Rocky' - the Australian Army Defence Support Unit (DSU) camp adjacent to Rockhampton Airport - and back.

Local plane spotter Daniel B capture some great photos as NZ3306 and NZ3308 were approaching Camp Rocky one their final flight of the day.  They were heard to be using the one radio callsign of "Warrior Black".

The third NH90 that came to Australia to participate in the joint Military Exercise Talisman Sabre 2019 (TS19) - serial NZ3302 - wasn't sighted.

All three NH90s are flown by the RNZAF's Number 3 Squadron based at RNZAF Base Ohakea near Palmerston North in New Zealand.

As posted below, they all arrived on board the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) multi-role vessel HMNZS Canterbury at the Gladstone Port over this last weekend.

Meanwhile, also on Tuesday 9 July, the visiting RNZAF Boeing B757-2K2 NZ7572 "Kiwi 009" was all set for departure from Rockhampton Airport, however it remained grounded following a maintenance issue.  Local media reported a hydraulic failure and possible leak.  It had arrived into Rockhampton Airport on Monday 8 July from RNZAF Base Ohakea.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter Daniel B who was at the right place at the right time and for sharing these great photos!
