Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-003 at Rockhampton Airport Monday

Local plane spotter Kayanne H has captured a couple of images of a surprise visit by Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-003 at Rockhampton Airport on Monday 24 March.

The MRTT - flying as "Dragon 30" - landed briefly at Rocky after arriving from Amberley Air Base.  It later departed to Cairns, and was later noted on the ground at Townsville.

Later, an Australian Army / Royal Australian Navy (RAN) NH Industries MRH-90 Multi-Role Helicopter also snuck into Rockhampton.  It was noted departing as "Poseidon 22" - possibly making this MRH-90 A40-022.

Finally, it should be noted that Townsville Airport is playing host to several RAAF aircraft and Australian Army helicopters in association with an Australian Defence Force (ADF) Exercise "Black Dagger".  The FNQ Skies Blog features some stunning images of RAAF F/A-18F Super Hornetts, along with several different types of Army helicopters flying in and out of Townsville.  The Exercise continues until early April.
