Regional Express (REX) / Pel Air SAAB 340B VH-ZRY Spotted at Mackay Airport

As the election campaign took a break on Saturday 10 January, I had driven into Mackay and was surprised the see Regional Express (REX) / Pel Air Aviation SAAB 340B on approach for landing at Mackay Airport.  It arrived from Cairns, and after just over an hour on the ground, it departed for Brisbane.

During this last week, VH-ZRY had been noted carrying LNP Leader and Premier Campbell Newman - along with his media entourage - up the Queensland coast with stops made at Maryborough, Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns.

Fellow Pel Air / REX SAAB 340A VH-EKD has also been involved with the election campaign this week, being spotted at Mackay Airport (see Blog post below) before heading for Gladstone.

I would expect that parts of Queensland will be see these two aircraft in the lead-up to the Queensland State Election on Saturday 31 January.
