On Wednesday 7 January, Qantas B737-800 VH-VXO touched down at Gladstone Airport operating a Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flight from Sydney as QFA1374.
It later departed back to Sydney, re-positioning as QFA6105.
Of great interest, VH-VXO has only this week returning from Singapore (Seletar) Airport where it was re-painted into the new Qantas livery. And, disappointingly, VH-VXO has lost its "Sharing the Spirit" titles that it had carried since 2004.
Meanwhile, as the sun was setting, fellow B737-800 VH-VZV touched down at Gladstone from Brisbane on another FIFO charter flight as QFA1372. It later re-positioned back to Brissie as QFA6103.
Overall, it was a quieter day for FIFO movements into Gladstone, with only an additional QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXD from Brisbane and QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOE from Sydney.
UPDATE! At the time of writing, VH-NXD hasn't departed Gladstone and was noted taxiing for departure but being forced to return to the gate with a maintenance issue. It was operating the scheduled QJE1717 service to Brisbane.
