Hinterland Aviation Cessna 208B Caravan VH-ETF Arrives at Mackay Airport

An interesting arrival into Mackay Airport during the afternoon on Wednesday 6 April was Hinterland Aviation Cessna 208B Caravan VH-ETF which touched down from Townsville as HND411.

It appears that the Caravan may be on an aerial survey flight of the Great Barrier Reef with the flight from Townsville tracking over water and taking some four-and-a-half hours.

At the time of writing, VH-ETF is scheduled to operate another long flight back to Townsville on Thursday 7 April.

Hinterland Aviation is a regional airline and charter company based at Cairns Airport. The company was established in 1984 and they currently operate 11 propeller aircraft on scheduled flights from Cairns to Cooktown, Lizard Island, Bloomfield River, Kowanyama and Pormpuraaw.

Meanwhile, a couple of other interesting light General Aviation (GA) aircraft that have also been noted calling into Mackay Airport this week included Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation Cessna 441 VH-VED which looked to depart Mackay for Clermont and then Brisbane also on Wednesday 6 April.

While on Tuesday 5 April, Hawker Beechcraft C90GTi King Air VH-JJU called into Mackay yet again from its Cloncurry base, and Bayswater Road / Australian Aerial Mapping (AAM) Reims Aviation F406 VH-LAA was noted departing to the South-West.
