Sunday Specials at Rockhampton Airport - Australian Army MRH-90 A40-034 & RAAF KC-30A MRTT A39-003

There were a couple of nice military visitors into Rockhampton Airport on Sunday 8 April.

During the middle part of the day, Australian Army NH Industries MRH-90 Multi-Role Helicopter A40-034 noted arriving into Rockhampton Airport from Townsville.  After taking on fuel, it departed to RAAF Base Amberley.  A40-034 was heard to be flying as "Pegasus 88".

Meanwhile, a little later in the day, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-200 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-003 completed a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport.  It had earlier flown North from Amberley and while returning South, completed the missed approach at Rocky.  It then returned to Amberley.  A39-003 was heard to be flying as "Dragon 16".

UPDATE!  On Tuesday 10 April, fellow RAAF KC-30A A39-005 "Dragon 31" completed a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport.  It flew up from Amberley and then completed airwork (possibly re-fuelling) off the South-East Queensland coast before returning to Amberley.
