Rare Weekend Visit with RAAF Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-213 "Stallion 74” Visiting and Completing Airwork at CQ Airports

A rare weekend visit into Central Queensland by a military aircraft on Saturday 27 October with Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing C-17A Globemaster III transport aircraft A41-213 spotted at and in the skies over various CQ Airports.

Flying as "Stallion 74", the Globemaster flew north from its home at RAAF Base Amberley, flying direct to Emerald Airport where I spotted it completing a missed approach - albeit from the wrong end of the main Runway!

It then flew across to Rockhampton Airport and landed and parked for a short time, possibly completing a crew change.

A41-213 then departed Rocky for the North where it again completed at least one missed approach at Mackay Airport, before it then continued further North and landed at Townsville.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotters Scott H and Daniel B for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos of the Globemaster at Rockhampton Airport!
