Many Light General Aviation (GA) Aircraft Complete Charter Flights in and out of CQ Airports So Far This Week

Over the last couple of days, there has again been numerous close Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flights operated by major charter companies in and out of various Central Queensland Airports - we will report on these at the end of the week.

But also over the last couple of days, it has been interesting to also note several light General Aviation (GA) aircraft have also called into various CQ Airports on (presumably) on closed FIFO and other general charter fights.

Kicking off at Rockhampton Airport on Wednesday 15 April, Seair Pacific / Istlecote DHC-6-100 Twin Otter VH-ZKF visited again on what could be a new weekly FIFO run.  It arrived from the Gold Coast and Brisbane before it then departed Rockhampton Airport and flew to Collinsville Aerodrome and Townsville.

After around an hour in Townsville, VH-ZKF returned to Collinsville Aerodrome and then Rockhampton Airport.  It then returned to Brisbane and then its Gold Coast base.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday 14 April, fellow Seair Pacific / Istlecote Cessna 208 Caravans VH-LYT and VH-TQW were also again noted completing FIFO charter flights in the region.  They both looked to fly up from Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) and Maryborough Airports to Wanella Station (near Coppabella) before returning South in separate directions.  VH-TQW flew into Gladstone Airport before heading out to Lady Elliott Island, Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Lady Elliott Island and back to Hervey Bay.  While VH-LYT flew into Rockhampton Airport where it spent the night before returning to Hervey Bay Airport on Wednesday 15 April.

Also visiting Rockhampton Airport, also on Tuesday 14 April, was Austrek Aviation Beech B200 Super King Air VH-ZGD which looked to arrive from and later depart back to its Toowoomba base.  While FKG Air (Redjet Aviation) Hawker Beechcraft B200GT VH-FKB was noted visiting several CQ Airports including Rockhampton, Mackay (pictured) and Williamson Airfield within the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) during a busy day of flying out of and back to its Toowoomba base.

UPDATE!  VH-FKB was at Roma and Mackay Airports on Thursday 16 April and it was back at Mackay Airport on Friday 17 April.

And up the road in the Whitsundays, also on Wednesday 15 April, Redjet Aviation Piper PA-31 Navajo VH-PJU was noted arriving into the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour from its Toowoomba base.  It also looked to complete its 'usual' flight into my local Clermont Aerodrome from and back to Toowoomba on Tuesday 14 April.

UPDATE!  On Thursday 16 April, VH-PJU returned to Toowoomba from Shute.

Out at Emerald Airport, also on Wednesday 15 April, Brescon P/L Beech B200 King Air VH-WXN arrived from Toowoomba-Wellcamp and departed to Townsville.
