Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-001 Pops into Rockhampton Airport

On Tuesday 21 April, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-001 was spotted as it paid a visit to Rockhampton Airport.  It initially looked to fly up from RAAF Base Amberley to Townsville where it landed for a short time before it then flew South to Rocky.

After parking on Gate 6 on the Southern end of the Rockhampton Airport parking apron, a crew change and reprogramming took place before A39-001 then taxied out and departed back to Amberley.

A39-001 was heard to be flying as "Dragon 37".

This is the second day in-a-row that a RAAF KC-30A has been around the beef capital with sistership A39-002 "Dragon 44" completing a missed approach the previous day - see Blog post below.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter Scott H who was at the right place at the right time to capture there great photos!
