A Few Light General Aviation (GA) Aircraft and Helicopters Around CQ Airports During a Quiet Start to the Week!

It’s been a quiet and stock-standard start to the week in terms of aircraft movements around Central Queensland Airports with the ‘usual’ Regular Passenger Transport (RPT) and Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) movements coming and going. Of the light General Aviation (GA) aircraft and helicopter movements, on Tuesday 8 September.

Great Western Aviation Beech B200 VH-XGV made its weekly visit to my local Clermont Aerodrome, arriving from and later departing back to Brisbane.

Western Australia-based Cessna 182T VH-BHP flew out of Hamilton Island Airport for the Sunshine Coast. It had arrived from Archerfield the previous day.

The Queensland Police Service (Airwing) (State of Queensland) Cessna 208 Caravan VH-PSQ was noted arriving into Rockhampton Airport from Brisbane. It looked to depart Rocky for the South but returned soon after.

And NQ Heli-Worx (Townsville) Eurocopter AS.350B2 Squirrel helicopter VH-JKX was noted departing Korte's Resort to the North-West. It had arrived into the Korte's Resort (just North of Rockhampton) from the South the previous day.

Meanwhile, on Monday 7 September, the Queensland Government Airwing (State of Queensland) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SGQ was noted arriving into Maryborough Airport from Brisbane. It then departed to Gladstone Airport where it appears to be staying for at least the night.

UPDATE! On Wednesday 9 September, VH-SGQ completed a return flight from Gladstone Airport to Moranbah Airport and back - see Blog post above.

UPDATE! On Thursday 10 September, VH-SGQ departed Gladstone Airport and returned to Brisbane.

Also on Monday 7 September, Hinterland Aviation Cessna 208 Caravan VH-LZK completed the Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) closed charter flights from Rockhampton Airport to the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's Carmichael Coal Mine site.

It had arrived into Rockhampton Airport on Sunday 6 September as HND663 from Townsville.

Of interest, it appears that fellow Hinterland Aviation Cessna 208 VH-ETF remains parked at Rockhampton Airport.

UPDATE! On Wednesday 9 September, VH-ETF departged Rockhampton Airport for Cairns as HND790.

UPDATE! Also on Wednesday 9 September, another Hinterland Aviation Cessna 208 VH-NDC also arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Townsville and Labona as HND450/331. So it seems that there are now two Caravans based at Rockhampton Airport to complete these FIFO charter flights.

Finally, also on Monday 7 September, Access Aviation Cessna 310R VH-JQK arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Cairns. After refuelling, it then departed to Redcliffe.
