Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7ES / E-7A Wedgetail A30-005 Completes Airwork at Rockhampton Airport

On Wednesday 9 September, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7ES / E-7A Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft A30-005 was photographed as it climbed out after completing one of four missed approaches at Rockhampton Airport.

It was flying as "Mitchel 10" and came up from RAAF Base Williamtown to Rocky before it returned there via more airwork at Coffs Harbour.

Of interest, A30-005, which is of the RAAF's Number 2 Squadron, is one of two (now all!) now wearing new nose art commemorating the upcoming 50th anniversary of the loss of ''Magpie 91'' - a 2 Squadron RAAF Canberra Bomber in Vietnam on 3/11/1970.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter John L for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
