It is believed to have arrived direct from the United States Navy (USN) amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA-6) which is currently in waters near the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA).
The mighty helicopter wore the serial number 161993 (Code YN-19) and was heard to use the radio callsign of "Kong 41". It was interesting to note that the only visible squadron markings were 'HMH-USA' - part of one of the Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadrons.
After only a few minutes on the ground, the Super Stallion departed Rockhampton Airport back to the ship.
