As mentioned below, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-200 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-002 called into Rockhampton Airport on dusk on Wednesday 19 March.
Local plane spotters Kayanne H and 'IAD' also ventured to Rockhampton Airport and captured some more great photos of KC-30A as it paid the beef capital a visit.
'IAD' was even able to capture a stunning photo of the bird strike that A39-002 suffered as it touched down on Rockhampton's Runway 15.
After rolling-out, A39-002 parked on Taxiway Juliette and was closely inspected by crew and ground staff.
As mentioned below, information suggested that the MRTT was to continue North to Townsville, however with the apparent bird strike, this plan was changed and it returned South to Amberley. It was noted using the radio callsign of "Dragon 25".
Thanks to Kayanne, 'IAD, and also Ash B for sending through their fantastic photos!
