We took a quick lunch-break excursion to Gladstone Airport on Thursday 2 August and noted a nice mix of commercial and General Aviation (GA) visitors.
Virgin Australia (Skywest Airlines) ATR 72-500 VH-FVU and QantasLink (Sunstate Airlines) Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOU were noted both arriving from Brisbane. Meanwhile, QantasLink Dash-8-Q300 VH-SBW was noted departing to Brisbane after earlier arriving from Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville, and Cairns.
At the General Aviation (GA) parking area, Australasian Jet's very smart looking Hawker Beechcraft B200 King Air VH-ZMW was photographed waiting for its next flight. This aircraft is becoming a frequent visitor to the Central Queensland region - seemingly operating fly-in fly-out (FIFO) charters based out of Brisbane. During this week, VH-ZMW had also been noted at Clermont Aerodrome, and Proserpine/Whitsunday Coast, Mackay and Rockhampton Airports, before being spotted at Gladstone Airport.
Another smart looking light aircraft in the form of Cessna 210 VH-ORR was also seen.
One last movement at Gladstone Airport early on Thursday 2 August, was the Wagners Development Company's Hawker Beechcraft B300 Super King Air VH-WJW, which arrived from and departed to Brisbane.
