A Couple of Other Aircraft Movements at Rockhampton Airport

Regular Rockhampton Plane Spotters, Ben O and Don W have spent a little bit of time at Rockhampton Airport over the last couple of days and have caught a few interesting movements.

On Saturday 13 October, Ben captured one of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Eurocopter AS332M Super Puma helicopters as it departed on a sortie to the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) during Exercise Wallaby 2012.

The Super Puma - serial '293' - is pictured above with one of Rockhampton Airport's long time residents which was captured by Don W on Friday 12 October.  Hawker Siddeley Aviation T.75A - Hawker Hunter - VH-XHH - has emerged from its hangar and has been sitting out in the sun on the General Aviation side of Rockhampton Airport over the last couple of days.

Lastly, on Monday 15 October, Don managed to catch a pair of Seair Cessna 208 Caravans which were flying together on an early morning fly-in fly-out (FIFO) run presumably for Evolution Mining (as denoted by the stickers on the aircraft).

The two Caravans - VH-LMZ and VH-LMD - arrived into Rockhampton from Maryborough early in the morning.  Passengers were loaded, and they departed soon after, eventually returning to Hervey Bay later in the day.  They were also noted overflying Gladstone Airport later in the morning.

Thanks guys!
