Also Spotted at Rockhampton Airport Over the Last Few Days

I have spent a couple of nice days plane spotting at Rockhampton Airport, and I even managed to meet a few other fellow aviation enthusiasts and fans of the Blog.  As for aircraft, throughout the time I was there Gate 6 at Rockhampton Airport was occupied by the Polet Aviakompania (Polet Airlines) Antonov 124-100 RA-82068 which is photographed the morning after it arrived into Rockhampton on Thursday 4 October.

And of course, there were the the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) helicopters, which were making increasingly frequent flights to the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) as Exercise Wallaby 2012 continues.

Some of the other movements included a nice selection of QantasLink aircraft that have been adorned in additional titles or a special livery.  Cobham Aviation-operated Boeing B717-200 VH-NXD visited Rockhampton every day whilst I was there, operating three return flights from and back to Brisbane.  VH-NXD is pictured departing on Thursday 4 October.

VH-NXD wears additional titles highlighting QantasLink being awarded Air Transport World magazine's Regional Airline of the Year 2012.

Later on Thursday 4 October, one of QantasLink (Sunstate Airlines) recently acquired Next Generation Dash-8-Q400s - VH-LQJ - passed through Rockhampton heading North as QLK2314.

On Friday 5 October, Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOH passed through Rockhampton heading South as QLK2301.  VH-QOH still wears Breast Cancer Awareness livery, and still looks pretty spectacular!

Dash-8-Q400 VH-LQF is pictured about to touch down on Rockhampton's Runway 15 on Friday 5 October.  It also wears additional titles highlighting QantasLink being awarded Air Transport World magazine's Regional Airline of the Year 2012.

Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Beech B350 Super King Air A32-437 made a surprise visit to Rockhampton from the North on Friday 5 October.  After completing some airwork in the circuit, it departed North.

Another surprise visitor later on Friday was this New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Cessna U206G VH-NPW ("Park Air 5"). After refuelling, it is pictured taxiing for parking overnight.

A few other Cessna aircraft could be seen on the Rockhampton Airport General Aviation apron, including Cessna 172 VH-XUI, Cessna 150 VH-KVS, Cessna 152 VH-RNE, and Cessna 182 VH-TUJ.

Meanwhile, the Polet Antonov 124 RA-82068 remained parked at Rockhampton Airport.  Latest information suggests that the giant Antonov will depart either on Monday or Tuesday next week.

I had a great time - but back to work on Monday!
