Sunday Morning Plane Spotting Report From Gladstone Airport

At Gladstone Airport on Sunday 16 December there was quite a bit of light aircraft activity, with a number of aircraft doing circuits and performing touch-n-go's.  Two of those lighties were familiar aircraft to Central Queensland skies - Piper PA-28R-180 VH-PBA - which is reported to be spending the festive season in Gladstone - and Thangool-based Cessna 182 VH-BIW.

Local Jabiru 55-1981 was also noted enjoying some local flying, and after completing their morning of flying activities, Piper VH-PBA and Jabiru 55-1981 parked in front of the hangars where the Gladstone Aero Club members were enjoying their weekly Sunday gathering.

On the commercial scene on Sunday 16 December QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-LQB operated the mid-morning departure to Brisbane after overnighting in Gladstone, while transiting the industrial city during its northbound ‘milkrun’ to Cairns from Brisbane was QantasLink Dash-8-Q300 VH-TQH.

Finally, Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Hawker Beechcraft B200 VH-FDA arrived and later departed for Brisbane as "FlyDoc 401".
