Military Exercise Talisman Saber 2013: More United States Air Force (USAF) Special Operations Hercules Action at Rockhampton Airport Over the Weekend

United States Air Force (USAF) Special Operations Lockheed C-130 Hercules transport aircraft continue to call into Rockhampton Airport.  Local plane spotter 'IAD' captured some of the action on Saturday 20 July.


Pictured above and below is MC-130H 88-0191 of the 1st Special Operations Squadron (1st SOS) based at the Kadena Air Force Base in Japan.  It arrived into Rockhampton from, and later departed back to Townsville as "Stilt 11".



Also pictured is MC-130P 69-5826 of the 17th Special Operations Squadron (17th SOS) which is also based at Kadena.  It also arrived into Rockhampton from Townsville but as "Stilt 14".



More Hercules action later on Saturday 20 July with United States Navy (USN) Lockheed C-130T Hercules - serial 165160 - coded JW5160 - of the VR-62 Fleet Logistic Unit - arriving into Rockhampton Airport as "Convoy 7301".

Lastly, United States Navy (USN) Boeing C-40A Clipper (B737-7AFC) 165834 / JV-834 of the VR-58 Fleet Logistics Support Squadron, also called into Rockhampton Airport on Saturday 20 July from Townsville as "Convoy 7202".
