Military Exercise Talisman Saber 2013: Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Aircraft at Rockhampton Airport on Tuesday

As well as the visiting United States Air Force (USAF) Globemasters, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-210 was photographed at Rockhampton Airport on Tuesday 9 July.

Perched high above Rockhampton Airport, local plane spotter 'IAD' captured some great images of A41-210 on approach and then taxing to its parking position on the Southern end of the Rockhampton Airport apron.

Meanhwhile, on the ground at Rockhampton Airport, local spotter Travis W captured some more spectacular images of A41-210 on the ground arriving and departing a short time later.

'IAD' also captured some spectacular photos as A41-210 climbed away from Rockhampton and headed to the South.  The Globemaster was heard to be using the radio callsign on "Stallion 4".

It also worth mentioning that fellow RAAF C-17A Globemaster III A41-211 conducted a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport earlier on Tuesday 9 July.  Don W captured A41-211 as it made a slow low pass over the Airport.

RAAF Globemasters are even starting to pop up in some unusual places, A41-211 also captured by a local spotter approaching Maryborough Airport a little later on Tuesday 9 July, and reports of a RAAF C-17 conducting a missed approach at Gladstone Airport too!

Meanwhile, back at Rockhampton Airport, later on Tuesday 9 July, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7ES / E-7A Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft, A30-003 was photographed performing a missed approach onto Runway 15.

A30-003 was heard to be using the radio callsign of "Wedgetail 04".

My thanks to Don, Travis and 'IAD' for sending through these spectacular photos from Rockhampton Airport!
