Some Plane Spotting Photos from the Weekend at Gladstone Airport

Local plane spotter Michael F had a nice relaxing weekend that even included a bit of plane spotting at Gladstone Airport!

Of note at Gladstone Airport on Sunday 10 November was Evektor Sportstar 24-8995 of the Pro-Sky Flight Training Group, which, in conjunction with the Gladstone Aero Club, continues to provide RA-Aus flight training.  The Gladstone Aero Club has recently advised that Pro-Sky’s flight training has moved to Sunday and Monday to accommodate several students who and only have Sundays off. The training is going very well and is always busy.  On some weekends, it has been necessary to bring a second instructor and aircraft. The Gladstone Aero Club reports that they have received only positive feedback from students regarding Pro-Sky.

As shown above, Virgin Australia Regional Airlines ATR 72-500 VH-FVU was spotted at Gladstone Airport on Sunday, operating a scheduled service from and back to Brisbane as VOZ1711/1714.

Also, in what is becoming a familiar sight, yet another Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 - this time VH-XWR - popped into Gladstone Airport operating what seemed to be a return service from and to Brisbane as UTY2638/2639 on behalf of QantasLink.

Meanwhile, QantasLink's own Dash-8-Q300 VH-SBI was spotted by Michael operating from Gladstone to Brisbane on the final leg of the daily 'milk-run' from Cairns to Brisbane via Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton and Gladstone.

Finally, Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Raytheon B200 King Air VH-FDW was captured by Michael at Gladstone Airport on Sunday 10 November arriving from Rockhampton.  It later departed to Hervey Bay as "FlyDoc 447".

Despite the heat haze, it looked like a nice enjoyable weekend of plane spotting for Michael - and we sincerely thank him for sending through these great images from Gladstone!
