Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 Jet VH-ZPT and Tex Onsite AeroCommander VH-TQA at Gladstone Airport

A nice surprise captured by local spotter Tash C late on Monday 11 November was Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 jet VH-ZPT.  It touched down from Brisbane as VOZ1715 and it pictured below departing back there as VOZ1720.

There hasn't been much Virgin jet traffic through lately, so the arrival of VH-ZPT was a nice surprise!

Meanwhile, back on Friday 8 November, both Tash C and Jamie C captured some great movements that capped off a great week of plane spotting at Gladstone Airport.

Of note was the attractive Victorian-based AeroCommander 500-U VH-TQA, which is operated by TEX Onsite / Kirwan Training.

VH-TQA touched down from the Gold Coast and departed later in the day to Toowoomba.

Also – eventually – touching down was QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXJ which – after performing a spectacular missed approach – landed at Gladstone as QJE1704 from Brisbane.

Virgin Australia Regional Airlines ATR-72s VH-FVU and VH-FVH were also captured visiting Gladstone Airport on Friday 8 November, with crew of VH-FVH spotted giving Jamie and Tash a friendly wave!

Also spotted was Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 VH-QQX which was again operating a service into Gladstone on behalf of QantasLink, arriving from Brisbane as UTY2640 and later departing back there as UTY2641.

Finally, Camden-based Cessna 182 VH-SRE was photographed departing Gladstone for parts unknown.  It was spotted earlier in the week in North Queensland, and was noted arriving into Hamilton Island on Wednesday 6 November.

Some more great images from Jamie and Tash from a top week of plane spotting at Gladstone last week, and we sincerely thank them both for sending them through!
