Shoal Air Kununurra PA-31-350 Spotted at Rockhampton Airport - Plus More!

Local plane spotter Kayanne H popped out to Rockhampton Airport on Monday 9 March and captured the arrival of a nice little Piper PA-31-350 Navajo VH-HJR.

The Navajo is operated by Shoal Air of Kununurra in West Australia and looked to ferrying North to Darwin.

In fact some research shows that VH-HJR also called into Gladstone before popping into Rocky.  From Rocky it called into Mackay, Bowen, Townsville, Innisfail, Cairns, Burketown, Katherine (RAAF Tindal) before finally ending its ferry flight at Darwin.

Also on Monday 9 March, Kayanne also captured some photos of McDermott Aviations 1969-built Bell 47G-4A helicopter VH-LIN as it arrived also from Gladstone.

It departed a little later for parts unknown.

I suspect that given the recent rain, VH-LIN may be in Rocky on mosquito spraying duties.

Meanwhile, a couple of other light General Aviation (GA) aircraft were noted calling into Rockhampton on Monday 9 March with Air Support Queensland Piper PA-23-250 calling in for the day from Archerfield and Privately owned Piper PA-24-250 VH-BEJ calling in for the day from Redcliffe.

Slightly larger, Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation SAAB 340B VH-VEO called into Rockhampton also on Monday 9 March, from and back to Brisbane.

And finally, Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 VH-XWR was noted visiting Rocky on Sunday 8 March, arriving from and later departing back to Cairns as UTY3371/3372.
