More Federal Election Campaign Visitors - RAAF Challenger 604 Bizjets to Rockhampton and Mackay Airports Wednesday

With the federal election campaign well and truly underway, Wednesday 18 May saw a pair of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjets touch down at CQ Airports bringing politicians to campaign in the region.

Challenger 604 A37-003 was first to call into CQ touching down at Rockhampton Airport from Canberra as "Envoy 86".  It later departed North to Mackay Airport again as "Envoy 86".

A little bit later fellow Challenger 604 A37-002 also called into Rockhampton Airport but from Townsville as "Envoy 85".  It later departed to Brisbane again as "Envoy 85".

Finally, while not being in CQ, I believe that one of RAAF's Boeing B737-7DF(BBJ) aircraft flew into Cairns Airport on Monday 17 May carrying Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.  As I was writing this Blog post, I was hoping that Mr Turnbull (and his BBJ) may make an appearance in CQ later in the week - but alas it won't as during the afternoon on Wednesday 18 May, A36-002 was noted flying South from Townsville to Sydney.
