During October, several Cessna aircraft - including participants from the Darling Downs Aero Club - departed Toowoomba Airport on an air safari up through Western Queensland including Birdsville and Longreach up to Far North Queensland.

On Sunday 22 October, participants in the air safari were noted arriving into Hamilton Island Airport from Ingham and looked to include Cessna 172s VH-SIH, VH-KIT, VH-AFR and VH-TWB, along with Cessna 206 VH-EPL.

On Wednesday 25 October, all five aircraft list above were noted departing Hamo and landed at Gladstone Airport before continuing towards Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport where participants were reportedly heading to Fraser Island.

On Saturday 28 October, they were all planned to return to Toowoomba.

Finally, it's also worth mentioning that also arriving into Hamilton Island Airport also on Sunday 22 October but from Archerfield and Gladstone was Lake LA-250 Renegade VH-LKA.  It was planned to return to Gladstone and Archerfield on Tuesday 24 October.

Certainly a great adventure!
