A New Year's Surprise with JetGo Australia Embraer ERJ-145LR Regional Jet VH-JGR Making a Midnight Visit to Rockhampton Airport

In the very wee small hours of Monday 1 January, JetGo Australia's first Embraer ERJ-145LR regional jet, VH-JGR, made its first visit to Rockhampton Airport operating a flight which looked to be collecting passengers possibly affected by cancelled flights.

VH-JGR initially positioned from Brisbane to the Gold Coast before flying up to Rocky as JG31 - departing the Goldie very, very late on Sunday 31 December.  After ground procedures where complete, VH-JGR departed Rockhampton Airport and returned directly to Brisbane again as JG31.

VH-JGR then resumed 'normal' Regular Passenger Transport (RPT) flights with the airline.

Finally, VH-JGR continues to operated one-to-two times each week from Brisbane to Middlemount Aerodrome and back on a closed Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flight on behalf of Middlemount Coal.

UPDATE!  VH-JGR has operated another unusual flight into Rockhampton Airport, this time late on Wednesday 3 January.  It initially flew into the Gold Coast from Wagga Wagga before flying into Rockhampton Airport as JG45.  It then departed Rocky for the Gold Coast as JG74 before positioning back to Brisbane as JG91.
