Photos of RAAF Boeing C-17A Globemaster III Transport Aircraft and Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornets Overhead Central Queensland Commemorations on Anzac Day

Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) aircraft were spotted completing spectacular fly-overs throughout several different parts of Central Queensland during local commemorations on Tuesday 25 April - ANZAC Day.

After arriving into and then being open for public inspection at Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport the previous day - see Blog post below - RAAF Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-213 "Stallion 33" departed Prosie flying South and was photographed and videoed in multiple locations completing a spectacular low pass over commemorations in Rockhampton.

A41-213 then flew back North and was again spotted landing at Proserpine Airport.

Fellow RAAF Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-206 "Ausy 529" was heard to fly up from RAAF Base Amberley and completed the fly-over at Agnes Water and then commemorations at Gladstone where it was spotted completing its low-pass.

A41-206 then headed inland to Calliope and Theodore commemorations before returning to the South-East corner of Queensland and eventually landing back at Amberley.

Meanwhile, Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornets A44-213 "Buckshot 21" and A44-222 "Bukshot 31" completed spectacular fly-overs of parts of the Fraser Coast including Bundaberg, Hervey Bay and Chinchilla where A44-213 was captured by local plane spotter Scott W.

Of interest, two other Super Hornets (or "Rhinos") A44-206 and A44-216 were noted completing the fly-over of the Brisbane Anzac Day parade and commemorations, and they both featured on the state-wide television coverage.

Meanwhile, also in the Fraser Coast region, Brisbane-based North American P51-D-30NT Mustang VH-FST was photographed also completing several fly-overs of commemorations at Bundaberg.

VH-FST is reportedly the only North American-built Mustang in Australia.

Finally, in the 'Northern' part of Central Queensland at Charters Towers, a single RAAF Beech B350 Super King Air turboprop overflew local commemorations before continuing to Townsville.

Sincere thanks to to all the local plane spotters for capturing these stunning photos and videos and for allowing us to share them with you all!
